.The Aftermath.

Chapter 1: 2024

   The end of the world has always been a speculation, most people thought it would never happen until it did. Some said it would end in fire, some said ice or water or maybe even the undead, no one was expecting this.

   There was fire, and there still is. The world is dead and its hard to find anything that isn't dead at this point. The world has turned into complete and udder chaos all thanks to mankind...

welcome to 2024.

    Maybe its best if I explain this story from when everything went down hill.

   It was reaching the end of the year 2020 and everyone thought it was finally over, they thought they could go back to having a normal life but boy they where wrong. The government started with the elderly and then made their way to the adults and then the kids, they saved the teens for last. No one knows why they did this but they never had time to asks questions. They rounded everyone up, state by state, city by city, house by house, tearing families apart one by one. Some people tried to run only to get caught and killed in front of everyone to teach the people a lesson.

   After the government went through most of the people and only the teenagers where left, they began to experiment. Test their brain waves in stressful or near death experiences only to be turned into monsters, or raiders: Lifeless bodies who only cause more chaos to kill people and infect others, mindless robots created by the government which backfired when they ended up killing them too. Some teens where lucky enough to escape and get as far away from the bases as possible but they constantly live in fear that something might find them. Something like the raiders or the hornets.

    As for the hornets, no one really knows where they came from. One sting from them can end your life, first you get a fever and then for a split second you get better and have hope that you might live but then comes the blood and then after that... death. There is actually no way to survive the hornets, you just have to do your best to avoid them.

   Now the fires... the have basically taken over the whole planet. First it started with Australia and then slowly consumed the whole world until nothing but ash was left in its trace. Some places up north where lucky not to get completely consumed by the fire but they had another thing to worry about, the planet was too hot for ice, so instead it got flooded.

   Lets get back to the group now, they have all had their struggles before they finally found their way to each other. Hope and Jackson met at a government base somewhere in the middle of Tennessee. The two of them banded together and somehow managed to escape before the camp was over run by raiders. Along the way to find shelter they came across Mary who just left a destroyed camp in Georgia, she joined the group much to the dislike of Jackson. As the three of them where traveling to find shelter that as somewhat safe they ran into a group of raiders. That's where Jordan comes in; he saw that the three of the where getting attacked so he jumped in out of no where and saved them. Now three months later and the group is still together. Its been hard for this group of unlikely friends but now they are more like a family. They where able to find shelter in an abandoned house somewhere in North Carolina after traveling for a while, but for once they where finally safe from the raiders, the hornets, and the fires but they cant stay forever.

   This is where our story starts, Jackson was going on a supply run with Jordan for the fourth day that week. The past three days they came back empty handed, all the stores and houses they cheeked where bone dry. Today they where hoping that they would be lucky.

   The two boys walked down the dead street with their empty bags hanging on their shoulders. The smell of smoke and death was strong in the air but that was pretty normal for a world like this. They where carrying on a casual conversation until Jackson stopped in the middle of the street. "Maybe we could try this store... its the only one on this street that we haven't search. We don't need to come back empty handed again." he said as he slowly started to approach the ruined building. "There is nothing in there Jackson. We don't need to waste day light searching a building that has nothing in it. I mean come on man, just look at it the building is basically falling in on itself." Jordan replied as he still stood in the middle of the street. "we have nothing to lose. We have nothing anymore. If we go back with nothing then we will just starve to death. I'm going in, you can leave if you want." Jackson walked up to the door and slowly opened it before walking inside. "you have got to be kidding me.." Jordan mumbled before reluctantly following Jackson inside.

   "Holy shit.." Jordan said as he looked around the inside. There where piles of canned foods, blankets and even a few more guns for them. "want to questioned my judgement again?" Jackson teased before he started to shove stuff into his bag. "are you going to help or are you just going to stand there being a dumbass?" he said as he picked up a gun and shoved it into his jacket pocket. 

''Right, yeah I'm helping.." Jordan said before he walked to the back to pick up supplies from there. "if you find any medical stuff back there make sure you grab some, Hope said we where running low on that stuff." Jackson called out.

The two of them counted to scavenge the store until their bags where full. "its dark out, we should head back before it gets any later." Jordan said as he peered out one of the broken windows. The boys made their way back out into the street and began their journey back to the camp. There was a light hum in the air, kind of like radio static with a soft faint voice only slightly apparent. "Wait stop... do you hear that?" Jackson asked stopping once again. He walked over to a smaller building and put his ear to the door. "it sounds like a radio broadcast.."

"a radio broadcast? Come on Jackson you cant be serious... how in the world is it a radio-"

"Can you shut up for one second so I can hear." Jackson demanded as he threw a small rock in Jordan's direction. "its.. its talking about a town near Washington... it says there are people there.." he said obviously confused as he moved away from the door. Jordan went to say something until there was an ear piercing scream in the air and then a few more after that one, they where getting closer and closer. "raiders..." Jordan mumbled as he looked around frantically.
