I woke up in the field with lights flashing and voices ringing out. “Ansley!” I heard a voice say. Right at that moment I looked down and saw blood, a lot of it to. I screamed out and then stopped when I saw eyes again. My heart pounded but then it ran away and a light hit me. I heard a gasp and then I was put on a stretcher. I let my hand fall and then it was being held. “Your okay sweet heart.” He said. I looked up and he smiled. Ugh his smile kind of annoyed me. I didn’t know who it was though. He was just kind of there. I was air lifted to the hospital and my mom met me there. I went through surgery and woke up twenty four hours later. I had stitches in my stomach and legs. My shoulder was glued back together. The pain hit hard. I looked around. “Hello?” I said my voice breaking. It was more of a whimper. I heard voices outside my door. “You can’t just keep it from her!” A voice said. It was male. I kept listening. “I just can’t risk it. You know that.” My mom said. The guy sighed. “Mom, I know who she is known and what she looks like. Please let me meet her. I want to know my own...” I couldn’t hear the rest. I shook my head then was asleep in five minutes. When I woke up the first thing I saw was a present on the side table. It was backstage passes to Insanity. Amanda would love these. I sighed and bit my lip not to cry out in pain. My shoulder hurt and my foot felt like it went through a shredder. I picked up the T.V remote and decided to turn on something that would get my mind off of the pain. The first thing that came on was the news. The news people were dressed in appropriate outfits. There was a picture of a girl on the screen. “In other news a fifteen year old girl was attacked by a wolf on an abandoned farm up in the Appalachian mountain. She suffered a cut on her stomach, shoulder and many bite marks on her leg. She is in stable condition at the hospital. Back to you Frank.” I turned the channel. They were talking about me. The next channel was another news station. Every station had either me or Insanity. I was sick of it all. I finally looked to the side and saw like a hundred stuffed animals. Ha, and mom thought I was never going to get a teddy bear again. As if I needed it but it the thought that counts I guess. My mom walked in with a nurse two minutes later. “Hello miss Hall.” She said in an eerie tone. I kind of felt weird about her. “How are you feeling honey?” My mom asked me. I watched the nurse check everything and said “I’m fine, the pain is awful.” She nodded. “You had me worried sick.” She told me. I shrugged. “Got in a paint fight, got separated by the group and …” I trailed off. “It’s okay.” She said to me. Once I was left to rest I heard a knock at the door. “Hey girly, I was worried about you.” Amanda said. She still had paint along her skin. I looked down mine was mostly gone. “One hack of a party.” I said. She laughed I threw my gift at her. Her eyes widened and then she looked at me. “NO freakin way!” She squealed. I rolled my eyes. “Yup yours now, I think I might skip the concert. Doctor wants me home.” She waved me off. “I’ll sneak you off.” She said. I laughed a little. “I just noticed the concert is in like four days.” I said. I probably shouldn’t have said that. “Ohmy gosh! Your right!” Amanda said breathless. She went on and on for an hour about Insanity. By the time I was allowed to go home I had heard enough about Insanity that I was good for the rest of my life. I went home the next day and in school the next. “Oh my gosh, Ansley are you okay!?” Is the normal thing I heard when I passed people in the hallway. I didn’t really care if I was attacked by a shark this is too much attention. “Okay let’s get to lunch without getting mobbed.” I said under my breath. I heard my phone ring and saw my mom’s number. “Well, I better get this. It could be important since she never calls when I’m at school. I’ll e outside.” Amanda nodded. “Mom?” I asked into the phone. Her voice was frantic. “Hey honey could you come home?” She asked. “Um, it’s the middle of the day mom.” I said. “Okay let’s get to lunch without getting mobbed.” I said under my breath. I heard my phone ring and saw my mom’s number. “Well, I better get this. It could be important since she never calls when I’m at school. I’ll e outside.” Amanda nodded. “Mom?” I asked into the phone. Her voice was frantic. “Hey honey could you come home?” She asked. “Um, it’s the middle of the day mom.” I said. She didn’t seem to care and insisted. I said goodbye to Amanda and then was on my way home when a car with tinted windows drove up next to me. I honked when it came up close. A little to close if you ask me. All of a sudden it stopped and then sped towards me. I screamed as it made impact. It was like I was on a roller coaster. My silver convertible was totaled I knew it. It was like being in a hamster ball. It jarred me. The guy pulled a gun on me and I screamed again. He was aiming for me. I heard the bullets and saw the metal flying but when I saw the guys snake like eyes I screeched the wheels down the road and finally made it to my neighborhood. I got out of the car shaking and ran inside slamming the door behind me as I crumpled to the floor. What the heck just happened?! My mom came around the corner and must have seen me shaking. “Oh honey what’s wrong!” She said. I pointed out the window and she gasped. “Oh my gosh, are you okay?!” She asked. I nodded and then she left the room and called someone. I picked up the phone since I was done with her stupid secrets. “She has been shot at, car wrecked, and randomly attacked by a wolf. I think it’s safe to say she has been figured out.” My mom said. “I need to protect her… teach her.” My mom sighed. “No way, you are not getting near her. It’ll bring more pain. I just can’t Shane.” Who? Why is my mom talking to a Shane? I didn’t understand. I went downstairs to where my mom was. “I have to go, bye.” She said instantly. “Mom, what’s going on?” I asked finally getting that off my chest. “Nothing sweetie, I was just talking to someone about your problem here.” She said pointing to the car. I marched back to my room still shaking. I sat on my bed and held myself for another hour then got a call. “Hey! You excited for tomorrow!?” Amanda’s perky voice said blasting through the phone. I went to the window and sat on the ledge. “I don’t know if I want to go still.” I said to her. “What!” She yelled through the phone. “I am not sure that I want to go.” She didn’t let me finish. “No, Lee please you have to go with me!” I sighed I knew I would of lost anyways. “Ok, but only if you drive.” She agreed and I slept for at least two hours before I woke up after my wicked nightmare. I slept the rest of the night with my legs up to my chest. I went through school the next day a little jumpy. I didn’t really want to go anywhere and especially if I was in any danger. “What’s up with you?” Amanda asked. “Nothing” I said to her in a normal voice. “OK… so we are going to skip school later?” She asked. I nodded. She smiled and told me to meet her later. I went through the day slowly. I tripped at lunch and sent gross potatoes on the girl in front of me. She yelled and I froze. Whoops, that was one of the most popular girls in school. “What the heck!” She yelled. She took her food and threw it at me. Somehow I was standing there and then I was on the other side of the table. I looked around. What!? She whipped her head around and I backed up. “Sorry.” I said. She narrowed her eyes and I ran out of the cafeteria. I went to my car and drove home. What is happening to me? I spent the rest of the day in my room holding my pillow to my chest trying to understand. I heard my doorbell ring and cringed. Amanda. Oh snap I forgot. I ran to my closet and put on my outfit and put make up in my bag to do at the concert. I rushed downstairs and saw a steaming Amanda. “You left school?” She said. I shrugged and showed her the backstage passes again. She quickly forgot and we got into the car. Amanda and I sang Insanity songs the whole way. When we finally got there we went to our seats and Amanda squealed. “This is so cool!” When the song came on I couldn’t help screaming. All the band members came out different ways. Will was first. He came out of the floor and all the Will girls went crazy. After that Tyler went and I went a little crazy. He came out of the crowd and three rows over from us. Then came Ryan and Anthony from the screens and then Shane came through the roof and when they came together and the lights went off the girls went nuts. Amanda was off the walls. They opened their first song with Crazed. The lights went nuts and so did I. After their fifth song there was an intermission. Amanda went to get us drinks and they were calling prizes. I was texting my mom that I was ok when I heard Amanda screaming. “I just got us seats closer!” I jumped up and down with her and we went pretty much to the stage. I settled in and then the guys came out again. They were singing to a song when Shane and Ryan looked over at me. They were smiling except when Shane looked over he almost tripped. I held his stare for two seconds then looked away. After that little moment Amanda looked over and we went backstage. “Amanda I don’t know if I will be able to go.” I said. Of course she dragged me and we were waiting then for Insanity to come from the stage. First one off with a jump was Ryan. “Dude that was… whoa sorry.” He said to me almost knocking me over. He stared at me for a sec. “Dude! You look just like…” I didn’t let him finish more like Amanda didn’t let him finish. “You’re Ryan!” She squealed. He smiled. “That I am.” He said. He gave us a hug and moved on to another fan. After saying hi to the entire Insanity guys left one more. Shane. Amanda and I hugged him but kind of just stared at me. When he hugged me it was kind of possessive. “Nice to meet you!” Amanda chirped. He smiled and kind of just looked at me. He walked past me and then I felt something in my hands. I shook my head and then Amanda turned to me. “Ohmy gosh! Did you see that?!” She yelled over the crowed. I nodded and told her I was going to the bathroom. When I got into stall I opened my balled fist. A note. He gave me a note. Shane gave me a note! I opened it. Meet me outside the stadium with this in hand. I looked down and saw a little pass. I put it in my pocket and went back to Amanda. “Hey so my mom is going to pick me up!” I screamed over the crowed. She nodded and we enjoyed ourselves for the rest of the time. When the concert was over Amanda went to her car and I went to the back door. A security guard was standing by it. “I need to get through here.” I said. He smiled. “No can do sweetie.” I rolled my eyes. “I don’t care what you can do I need to get through.” His smile was gone. “Unless you have proof you aren’t getting through here.” I tried to get through but he wouldn’t let me. How could I have proof? “Let me through I was told to come here!” the guard snapped his fingers and two more guards were there. He motioned for me and then I was being picked up. I needed to think. I know Shane gave me something. It hit me then. “Wait! I have a pass. Put me down.” I kicked him and I was on the ground and over to the other security guard. “What? How did you…” I didn’t let him finish. I pulled the pass out and he opened the door. I rushed out and then heard a whisper. “Over here!” I ran to the voice avoiding to speakers and one security guard. Shane was waiting for me there. I stopped a couple feet away. He walked up and hugged me again. “It is so good to meet you.” What? That was weird. “Ok…” He stepped back. “Let’s talk in the bus.” I looked at him. “What’s going on?” I asked. He smiled. “Family reunion.” I walked forward and into the bus. The rest of the band was still meeting fans. I looked at Shane then. He wore his usual outfit, ripped jeans black tank and leather jacket. He added a bandana. I smiled. “Your outfit is interesting. Nice shoes.” I said as I saw his black convers. I smiled. I was wearing my hot pink convers. He looked into my eyes. “What I am about to tell you is only between you and I. Don’t even tell mom.” I stopped him there. “Wait, mom? As in… You! It was you on the phone!” He nodded slowly. I sat down on the couch. I’m related to Shane. No freaking way. I was breathing weirdly. Shane noticed and put a hand on my shoulder. “Listen to me, have you experienced anything weird?” I raised one eye. What was he implying? “Uh…” He stopped me. “No, no I mean well, do you have anything that you love with you?” I nodded slowly. I pulled out my glass heart that my dad gave to me before he died. Shane nodded painfully. He walked to the other side of the bus and dropped it. “No!” I screeched and grabbed it. Shane smiled. “I thought so. Look where you were just sitting.” He pointed to the other side of the bus. “Yeah, so?” He shook his head. “You just got over here in less than second and caught your glass heart.” I looked back. “No freaking way.” I whispered. But it wasn’t me. Shane and I looked at the bus entrance and saw the other band members standing there. Shane shook his head with an exasperated sigh. “Guys…” He started. They walked in. “So you found a hot girl that looks normal and now you reveled yourself.” I looked at him weird. Hot? I was a little taken back and then Shane jumped in. “Okay so I know I’ve known her for two minutes but don’t call my sister hot.” I smiled. I could get used to this. “Dude! She’s your- I thought you didn’t even know who your parents are!” Ryan said. “IS she going to meet Tammy?” Anthony asked. Shane shook his head. “Not until she knows what she is special for and trained.” I looked at him then. “What?” He didn’t talk for a moment so Will did. “You are a special person. We all are. You will have a certain-power.” He finished. He stepped forward and I was confused until I noticed I was floating. “That is weird.” I said when put me down. Anthony stepped up. The lights flickered and then he stepped back and then smiled. Ryan took a step towards me and then I was holding his hand.” I heard Shane almost growl and then Ryan was across the room. Tyler smiled and then I saw him look down and there was a snake. Of course I screamed and ran behind Shane. They all laughed and I knew it was an illusion. “What’s yours?” He shook his head and said “I can control people.” He said. My eyes went wide. “No way! Can you make my P.E teacher do pushups?” Seriously she was fat. “I don’t use it.” He said. “I think you should tell her the truth.” Anthony said. Shane nodded. “Our dad, he was killed by these people that are like us. There next target is someone in the family. We think the person is Amanda and they want to target you.” I felt anger and betrayal then. Actually I was furious. Amanda isn’t like that. All of a sudden the bus started to shake. I heard screams outside. “Earthquake!” The guys held onto the sides of the bus and then I noticed something. It was me. I was in shock and then noticed my eyes were closed and then I opened them. “It can’t be.”
