Vegas, the City of Sins. Peering out from the private jet's window, Summer's stretched out as the plane made its final descent. Her mind was still trying to process over the events of the sleepover from earlier in the week. She spent the night over at Garrett's place just to be told at the last minute by Josh that he didn't think things would work out between the two because of a 'conflict of interests'. The words stung, but at least Smithley was there to perk her back up with some Pokémon and savory pancakes. At least on a bright note, Newman had been released from the hospital and was recovering at home with his family. Plenty of people had also contacted YRB; showering the man with tons of needed support and love. His head was back in the game and he was craving for a win.
"Doing anything while here?"
Ella's reddish-brown eyes glanced away from the window over to Hamlin and she shrugged, "I haven't decided on anything quite yet to be honest."
"What?" He chuckled, "You're young! Go explore the strip. Watch a show or two."
She raised an eyebrow, "Denny, you know I've been here plenty of times, right? We talked about it earlier this week when you got back."
"I know," He nodded sweetly, "I just don't want you to spend your entire time here cooped up inside of your motor home. Besides, it's your first time here as a NASCAR driver!"
Giggling softly she sighed, "You're making me feel old. Think I'll just catch up on some video games."
After landing and arriving at the track, she hurried to her motor home. Rick had texted her with the schedule for the weekend as well as her PR, Dakota. Confirming everything was a snap to do and she was deciding on what she wanted to eat for dinner. The Galaxy 10 received another text and to her surprise it was from Erik Jones. Upon opening it, he called her.
"Hey man," She plopped onto the couch while turning the TV on, "What's up?"
He seemed to be in a chipper mood, "Ella, how are you? I wanted to see if you would be interested in going karting."
"I'm hanging in there," Her eyes gazed up at the screen, "You wanna go karting, huh?"
"Yea, figured it would be more fun than strolling the strip a hundred times. Interested?"
Summers smiled, "You know what, that sounds like a great plan. I was about to look for somewhere to grab dinner anyways. Want me to head over there or you wanna meet up here?"
"I can meet you up over there," Erik replied, "I heard you have a sick video game layout."
She blushed, "I mean, it does put a lot of the others I've seen to shame. See you in 30?"
"Yea," He nodded, "that sounds good to me. See you soon."
She sighed once the call ended while plugging her phone in. She had no idea what to wear, or if she wanted to doll herself up at all for the occasion. When was the last time she even went go-karting? Thinking back it had to back during high school at some sort of youth group event, but that was ages ago. Back then she was racing late models part time while finishing up her senior year. She competed against Erik on an almost weekly basis. Somehow she was able to fit everything into her agenda back then as well.
"God," She slowly got up, "I miss being a kid sometimes."

"So, how many laps now that we've warmed up?"
In front of the racers was the track. It was set up sort of like a mock Roval, which made Summers snicker as she recalled how the last couple of races there had finished. Both Jones and her were already strapped in the karts ready to go with their helmets popped off until it was time to race.
