~Adam POV~Adam at 20 years old
When I was little, every night my mama and I would go out into our vas backyard and look at the stars. We had a great view because we lived out in the country were the city lights couldn't pollute the sky. We would lay on our backs in the soft grass with our hands on our heads and talk about what we thought was beyond the sky that we see everyday.
There was one night that I can remember as clear as day. It was one of the clearest starry nights I've ever seen. The sky sparkled like the celestial mountains in the visions of the saints. A sea that sparkled as if it was smiling.

Adam at 9 years oldMama said, "Look at how they shine for you" I turned into my side and smiled at her.
"That's not possible I'm just a small speck out of the thousands in this world. The stars would never as to do a little twinkle at me"
Mother chuckled, then hugged me tight. She looked me in the eyes then got serious.
"Don't you ever think of yourself as just speck. It's the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen. I know someday you'll make a change that will make our world a better place."
I glance up into the sky just in time to see a shooting star.
"Make a wish"
We squeeze our eyes shut and whisper our wishes so only the wind can hear them.
"I wish that one day I will discover something that will change the world forever." I open my eyes and turn to look at her.
"What did you wish for?" I ask
"I can't tell you if I want it to come true" she smiled
"It's getting late, time to go to bed buddy." She ruffles my hair, jumps up, and starts running towards our cottage.
"Race ya!" she laughs
"No fair you got a head start!"
That was my last day at home with mom. The next day while picking me up from school she collapses.

I stare down at her stunned and terrified. We were talking about going to get ice cream when her eyes rolled into the back of her head, and her knees buckled.People noticed and rushed towards me, asking what had happened. I was frozen in time, everything around me stopped once she hit the ground. All I could do was stare at her. Why did this have to happen to me, to her? Why now?
Next thing I know I'm in the hospital.
I wake up from my silent trance, when I see my mothers emerald green eyes flutter open. She smilies when she sees me, but I can tell it was forced and pained. I jumped onto her lap and finally brake down. I hug her as tight as I can afraid that I might almost lose her again. An ocean of uncontrollable tears flow from my eyes as I burry my head in her chest, soaking her hospital gown.
"Never do that again, please don't leave me, I love you" I repeatedly tell her
" I thought I lost you. Please don't leave me. I can't live without you."
"I will never leave you. I will always be with you no matter what happens."
She soothes me with her optimistic words, and my ocean soon dries up.
I'm just so glad to see she's ok.I turn around, never letting go of mama, and notice that my dad and sister Mia had witnessed my melt down. Mia has silent tears running down her face. Dad is just standing there silent, unmoving. He looks as if he's trying to stay strong, but his deep brown eyes show so much pain and remorse, that I have to look away.
