It was the next day and I was getting ready for my date with someone I knew and I was excited. It has been forever since I went out on a date. I was waiting for my date for about three hours and sighed.

JazzyJaz: how's the date :)

Me: he stood me up :(

JazzyJaz: aww, sry bestie :(

I put spotify on my phone and headed upstairs to change. I put on a black long sleeve and black shorts and black boots. I took a few selfies before hearing a knock on my door. I headed downstairs and looked through the peephole.

I opened the door and looked at Joel. "Are you stalking me?" I raised an eyebrow and folded my arms.

He laughed a little and shook his head while blushing. "Jaz told me to check on you while she's at her appointment with Zabdiel. She told me what happened."

I look down. "I should have known better. Sorry for lashing out at you."

"Hey, don't worry about it. C'mon, let's go hang out."

I looked at him and he was smiling. "Really?"

"Yeah, just because that guy didn't come and go on the date with you doesn't mean you can't have some fun. Trust me, you need it." He was still smiling.

"Okay, well let me just go get my jacket." I ran upstairs to grab my phone, turned off my music when I grabbed my phone, and put my keys in my jacket pocket. I came downstairs and smiled with it on. "I'm ready."

We left and he noticed something when I buttoned the jacket all the way and fixed my hair. "Isn't that the jacket we gave you?"

"Yeah?" I laughed a little. "I wanna wear it today." We were just walking around and I smelled something. "Mmm...you smell that?"

"Smell what?" He sniffed the air.

I laughed and grabbed his hand. "C'mon, this way. I love it when corner stores do this." We ran inside and I grabbed two pastellios. "Thanks Mariana." I gave the cashier her money and told her to keep the change. I handed him one and we ate them together. "Hey, there's a park nearby, wanna go there?"

"Sure." He said with a mouthful.

I laughed and after we ate the pastellios, we headed to the swing area of the park. "Thanks for checking on me Joel."

"Anytime. Hey, was wearing shorts the best idea?"

"I didn't plan on going to the park. This wasn't what I was going to wear for the date. But I got angry so I was gonna go to a club or something to dance my troubles away." I smirked. "Last one to reach the swings has to push the winner."

About half an hour, we headed to the picnic area and sat down to rest. I unbuttoned my jacket but left it on even though Joel offered to hold it. He looked at me and it made me blush. "What?"

"So what's your story?"

"What do you mean?"

"Just by hanging out with you today I found out a lot."

"Like what Smarty Pants?" I teased and booped his nose.

"You are easily angered, you love pastellios, which I don't blame." He laughed. "You enjoy nature, you change topics when you're uncomfortable, and you're scared to love. And insecure."

"What the hell did Jaz tell you?" I stood up angry.

"I'm not wrong and you know it."

"I'm not anything special. A lot of people are what you described."

"Why are you angry Mystic? It's not bad."

"To me it is!" I sighed and sat back down. "I'm just not enough for anyone Joel...no matter how hard I change myself to be enough..."
