First Person POV

"Stop this car, Renée!"

She chuckles, only accelerating speed. I've never wanted anything as much as I did now: to get out of this car being driven by my girlfriend. Ever since we have started dating, she began showing a side of her I was unaware even existed. I feel trapped, and constantly in a state of fear, given how horrible she had treated me, mentally and physically.

"I'll jump out of this damn car, Renée!" I shouted.

"Fuck off! You could jump off a cliff for all I care." She bellowed.

With tears streaming down my face, I brace myself. I reach my hand over to the car door, pull the handle, only to see she has locked it before I could open it.

"You're a goddamn idiot, you know that?" She sneered. "Jumping off a vehicle going 80 miles per hour WILL kill you."

Seeing as I had no way out, I sat in my seat, quietly sobbing. I watch as we exit the highway, and she slows down the car, stopping at a red light.

She thought for a moment, then glared at me, coming to a realization.

"Ha, fuck it, I don't need you anymore! Go to hell, you worthless bitch."

Before I could process the words that had just come out of that filthy mouth, she opens the now unlocked door, and shoves me off of my seat, causing me to fall and roll onto the sidewalk.

She shuts the car door and drives off, leaving me laying on the side walk.

I sat up, broken, tormented, but free from my abusive relationship. I looked down at my knees to see that they were bleeding from the fall. It was only a few scratches, and they didn't hurt IMMENSELY, so I stood up, shaking it off.

Wiping the tears away with my cotton sleeve, I turned around. All of a sudden, I felt as if I had stood in this very place before.

I looked up.

Oh lord.

This is where Renée and I first met.

Well, I don't have anywhere to go to, and I don't look too bad, I thought, entering the bar. I pulled down my skirt, hiding my scratches to the best of my abilities.

Seeing as there wasn't anyone at the bar besides a group of people who looked to be around my age, I sat down and ordered a drink.

Shane's POV

"He's so fucking cute, I did not think I would ever be this close to an animal I have never taken kindly to. I really am emotionally attached to this cat!" I said, smiling.

"Awe, I'm so happy for you!" Garrett exclaimed, "If I even attempted to take care of an animal it'd be dead before I could say 'Harry Potter.'"

I rolled my eyes. "Drew, I've noticed you get along well with felines."

"Well yes, I do tend to make sure I'm in good terms with my species." he says.

We all laugh hysterically. Hm, we ordered our food 20 minutes ago. What's taking so long? Haven't even gotten our drinks yet-

"And here are your drinks, gentlemen. We apologize for the wait!" Our waitress stutters, handing us our drinks.

"No worries, thank you!" We say in unison.

I look around, seeing how there weren't many people left, although I do see a woman our age a few seats away, drinking some sort of cocktail.

She looks... troubled.

It might just be me, but she looks as if she has been crying. Well, it might be the lighting. This red tint is making everyone here look all sweaty and pissed. Should I... ask her if she's alright? That's not like, weird, right? She's alone, lost in thought.

"Hey, guys?" I get my friends' attention. "That girl sitting a few seats over," motioning my head towards her, trying not to be as loud as I usually am, "she looks kinda upset, should we like.. say something?"

"She does look a bit.. down." Drew states.

Garrett being a bit too straightforward and friendly, exclaims, "Then let's cheer up the gal!" sticking his head forwards so she could hear him crystal clear, "Hey, excuse me?"

She snaps out of her thoughts, turning her head towards us. "Um, can I help you?" she asks, tilting her head to the side.

"You look a bit lonely there, hun. I don't wanna be weird or anything, but why don't you come sit with us!" he says, grinning.

She hesitated, but stood up from her chair, smiling and walking over to us, "Haha, that's sweet. Alright."  She replies, taking the seat next to me.
