Our Tiger Friend

Part 1

(It starts with Jake in the playhouse at Oakdale Playgroup looking bored.)

Jake: (sighs; grabs his Snuggly) Oh, Snuggly. What can I do today?

Judy: (walks by and notices him) Oh, hi Jake!

Jake: (uninterested) Hi, Judy.

Judy: (coming in) Jake, what's wrong?

Jake: I'm bored, Judy. Bella wrecked my aeroplane, and until you or Max fixes it, I have nothing to do.

Judy: Couldn't you sing a song?

Jake: No! I'm board!

Judy: It's bored, Jake! You could watch the Tweenie TV.

Jake: Nah, there are no new episodes of Happy Hippos.

Judy: You could give yourself a makeover.

Jake: Judy, I don't need a makeover, I'm already fabulous.

Judy: Good point. Hmmmm. (Gets an idea) Oh, I know what to do! Hang on, Jake, I'll be right back! (runs off)

Jake: This better be good.

(Later, Judy returns with someone behind her back.)

Judy: Jake, I'm gonna introduce you to a very special friend of mine. I told her all about you, and she can't wait to meet you.

Lola: Who is it?

(Nolan squats down and reveals. Katerina Kittycat.)

Katerina: Hi, Jake, meow-meow! I'm Katerina Kittycat!

Jake: (Stares for a minute, then laughs) Judy, what is this?

Katerina: Oh no, meow-meow, I'm not Judy, I'm Katerina Kittycat, meow-meow!

Jake: (giggles) Okay. I'll play along. Are you an actual cat?!

Katerina: Not just any cat, meow-meow, I'm the daughter of Henrietta Pussycat from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, meow-meow!

Jake: (gasps) That is amazing! My dad watched Mister Rogers as a kid!

Katerina: I know, right, meow-meow?!

Jake: What can you do for me?

Katerina: Oh, well Judy told me that you were bored and looking for something to do, meow-meow, and I have an idea. Let's use our imaginations, meow-meow!

Jake: Oh, okay, that sounds like fun! By the way, I love your green dress, it is so glammous!

Katerina: (laughs) Thanks, you're too kind, meow-meow. And by the way, it's glamorous, Jake, meow-meow!

Jake: I'm a little tired.

Katerina: Oh, well, I'm a little tired too, meow-meow. Do you want to take a nap, meow-meow?

Jake: (yawns) Yeah, a nap willed be nice.

Katerina: Ooooh, can I nap with you, meow-meow?

Jake: (sleepy) Yeah... sure. Let's go.

(So, Jake goes over to a beanbag and closes his eyes)

Katerina: Goodnight, Jake, meow-meow. (kisses her cheek and tiptoes out)

Bella: (walks up) Hi, Judy! What's u-

Judy: (Normal voice) Shhhhhhhh! Jake's taking a nap.

Bella: (quieter) Oh, sorry! What's up.

Judy: Oh, not much.

Bella: How is Jakey? I know he was really bored, with him not having his toy areoplane and all-

Judy: No worries. Jake was plenty occupied.

Bella: Oh, okay. See you, Judy!

(Bella leaves. Judy just smiles, and goes the other way.)
