Artemis pov-

I walked along the border of my territory. It was a nice day, it had rained an hour before but it had cleared up now and the sun was shinning through the tall pine tree needles.

It was foggy the night before and I had killed a young werewolf that had foolishly wondered into the fog. There were still some bloodstains on the ground.

I'm sorry if it was graphic but I had always done this for they turned my heart to ice. I've had the blood of so many werewolves that have wondered out in the fog.

I use the fog as a cover since I am a dapple grey Arabian mare. In horse years I am 4 but in human years I am 20. I have only shifted to my human once after the attack and that was only so I knew how to shift back..... And wellll maybe I shift back to see what's going on in the world. I mean, there is a town next to me and it is kind of cool. But even still, the horse form eases the pain.

I snorted as I completed my patrol. There was a meadow in the middle of my territory that I run in. I decided to go there. So I trotted over to the meadow and grabbed a bite of grass. Yum.

I pulled my head up and gulped down my food. I took off at a canter to warm up and then I galloped through the meadow at speeds faster than a normal horse. It was amazing to feel the wind flowing through my mane as I galloped. I know it sounds cheezy but it is amazing. HAVE YOU EVER BEEN A HORSE? Didn't think so.

Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that I'm sassy and sarcastic? If I didn't, I'm sassy and freaking sarcastic. I think you get that from me. 'Oh and the horse finally speaks' Sorry I had to....uh....do stuff.? 'Yeah...riiiight'
Ehhh I don't have an answer to that.

I stopped and grazed some and walked back to my little area in the middle of my territory to sleep because night was falling and it might be foggy later. I sighed and fell asleep.

I always had nightmares, they were just a thing that happened every night. It was always the same; my family being torn to shreds by that Alpha Jackson. Every time the fog sets in I wondered if he will come onto my land.

But it never happened that way.

I woke up as the fog crept in. I loved this camoflouge. I wandered around my territory until I smelled it.

Werewolves!
'Yeah I know what they are.'
Well you can just shove it! They are tresspassing and you know what we do to tresspassers.
'Yeah, kill.'

I followed the scent towards the werewolves. Slowly I blended in with the background. My jaw dropped, hit the grass, went through the earths crust, and now is cooking at the core. There were twenty werewolves and one was as big as me.
Crap. Ok, uh run, thats my plan, run.
'Brilliant as ever Encore, just freaking fantastic!'
Shut your pie-hole and RUN!
'Ow don't scream in my head.'

The big one turned and looked at me. A growl erupted from his throat. The others turned and looked at me. RUN! That was all the encouragement I needed. I turned and ran as fast as I could through a forest with staying in the general horse speeds. I couldn't let them know that I was a shifter.

Sure I had killed hundreds of werewolves but I had never gone up against twenty at once, especially one with an alpha. Goddess we are going to die! I ran to the meadow where I could put some distance between the werewolves hot on my trail.

I reached the edge of the meadow. I pushed faster but not fast enough. A wolf lunged at me and jumped on my back. I screamed and bucked him off.

That was it.

I galloped as fast as a normal horse could. Which was in all honesty kinda slow.

Two wolves had apparently gone around the other side of the meadow. They jumped at me, mouths open with their eyes looking to kill, claws extended. It was something out of a horror movie.
