Raihan's a dork

When one really thinks about it, Raihan's a dork. He acts feral but that's really just the persona he displays for everyone to see. Piers is more feral than Raihan in the sense that Piers is the kind of guy who'd probably bite you as a warning. Piers is the guy who tells you no encores and not to call him when something goes wrong again. Raihan? He's not feral. It's just an act, a persona. Sure he scratches at the air and screams during battle, sure he screams out his commands for his Pokemon team, but that all seems like an act for the audience watching. The scratching at the air and screaming seems like a thing Raihan thought looked cool and decided it was a thing he was gonna do from now on.

Raihan acts like he played D&D as a dragonborn character once and decided he wanted to be his OC for the rest of his life cause he thought they were so cool. He has, on more than one occasion, referred to himself as "the great Raihan." That is the dorkiest thing ever and it's adorable.

Raihan seems like the kind of guy who, in a highschool setting, he'd be the popular guy who knows everyone by name and talks to everyone and is cool with everyone. While at the same time, Raihan throws "parties." As in he invites the whole school to his house, the castle, for a giant group D&D session. Cosplay is heavily involved. In fact, Raihan seems like the kind of guy to answer the door in full cosplay and welcome everyone who wanted to join in on this "party" with the full intent of throwing the most immersive D&D roleplay campaign.

Imagine you come up to the gate by the vault entrance, it's closed and you hear the faint sound of loud medieval covers of popular songs. Immediately you're thrown off because you were expecting the stereotypical highschool movie party but the use of popular music covered in the medieval style of instruments has you intrigued. You stand there waiting for your host to come open the gate, having already texted him you were here and were just now waiting. You usually don't come to parties, loud music and overcrowded houses just aren't your thing, but being invited by Raihan of all people piqued your interest.

He's not one to throw parties, hell you're not sure he's ever thrown one before, and he lives in a castle, a giant place perfect to host an entire school's worth of people. You would have thought that he must have thrown one at some point, considering it's Raihan, one of the most popular guys out there. And yet nothing in your memory mentions anything about a Raihan hosted party. So here you are, standing outside a gate you can probably climb over but you're a respectable human being and will wait for the host to let you in.

You don't know what you were expecting but the sight of this six foot eight inch tall man who you normally see in headbands and hoodies dressed in full dragonborn cosplay, horns, spiked tail, large wings, full armor, even fake translucent orange scales possibly glued to his face was not it. Raihan comes towards you, keys in hand and begins welcoming you as he unlocks the gate.

"I'm glad you could make it! Not everyone was able to come but this campaign should go by smoothly." He explains, pulling the gate towards himself and allowing you to walk on in. As you pass him you mumble a "thanks" and admire the craftsmanship of the costume. It's actually very well made. The armor appears to be made with metal but that can't be right, where could he find the scraps to work with? Does Raihan actually know how to craft with metal?

Upon first glance, it was almost indistinguishable to tell if those scales were always apart of Raihan's body. However walking past him gave you the perfect opportunity to notice the blending work he clearly put the time in to make the make-up look real. The wings most likely attached under his armor are just as well made as the rest of the costume, you assume he made the outside with fabric to allow the flowy movements occur but the arms of the wings could be foam hidden under fabric.

The tail you can definitely tell is a separate attachment, the armor leaving enough space for it to not get in the way. Just like everything else Raihan was wearing, the tail was made with superb craftsmanship, the scales and spikes adorning the base giving it that realistic look as if it was cut off an actual dragon and placed on a belt for Raihan to wear. And you didn't notice it immediately when he came by but attached by his side seemed to be the gleam of a metal handle. A sword! Raihan has a sword with him!

Needless to say, you didn't expect Raihan to be as much of a dork as you are.

"Is that real?" You had to ask. That handle looks like it's made of real metal and if that's the case, holy Arceus.

"What is?"

"The sword, is it real?"

"Oh, no! Too dangerous to use in these campaigns. As realistic as I want them to be, a real sword would definitely kill someone."

Realistic?!? Will you be playing Dungeons and Dragons? How serious did he take D&D???

You didn't know how to respond, only walking with him up the stairs in silence as the two of you approached the large doors opening to what you assume to be the living part of the castle.

You're immediately greeted with candles and torches lighting up the hallways and rooms attached. Fake trees and shrubs made of cardboard were scattered around the hallways, plush creatures hidden behind some of them to give the illusion of life. It was actually quaint, even if you know most of these pseudo forests will house monsters to "battle to the death."

"This is... Really well made." You state in awe.

"Thanks! I spent a lot of my free time getting these props made." Raihan explains as he walks in after you, closing the door as he does so. You look at him, his expression shows he's quite proud of his own handiwork. You've never been more impressed.

"To be honest, this isn't the kind of party I was expecting." You admitted. Raihan tilted his head in question.

"What kind of party did you expect then?"

You shrugged. "The one's you see in movies. Loud pop music from this year, a crowd of people holding red solo cups most likely filled with alcohol." The response of a semi tired sigh and expression gives you the idea that this might be the description of the kind of party most people were expecting.

"Yeah, a lot of people went home not interested in what the great Raihan has in store for tonight." His face perked up, a wide smile taking residence. "But hey, their loss. This is gonna be the greatest campaign party anyone will ever see. Besides, we got a pretty sizable group in the other room, this isn't a dud of a party yet."

You smiled back, his cheerfulness infectious. "I'm glad this is the kind of party that's happening anyway, the parties from movies never interested me to begin with." You mentioned with glee as the two of you began walking to the other room to join the others who showed and stayed.

For a while it was silence, but the silence wasn't terrible. You got the chance to really absorb the kind of atmosphere Raihan was going for with the forest set of the corridors. You can tell he wants the campaign to start at night, if you focused hard enough, the candles could be taken as fireflies scattered around. A few seconds after walking, you decided to break the ice.

"So, D&D?"

"Yeah pretty much."

"In cosplay?"

"Yeah! I mentioned it in the invite, right?"

He mentioned to bring a cosplay? You took out your phone to look at the invite that spread like wild fire the day it was posted.

"Not really? You kinda just mention it being a party and to 'dress in your best.'"

"Wait dress in your best?" He looked over your shoulder to stare at the invite. "Whoops, forgot to add in the word 'costume' at the end. My bad!" Raihan apologized, chuckling a bit. You chuckled with him, but that made you a little disheartened.

"Wait, I don't have a cosplay then."

"That's fine, I got plenty to spare." He chuckled again before continuing. "I won't guarantee they'll be your size but I have a couple of spares to borrow for tonight." You smiled and thanked him, Raihan grinning back at you as a sign of saying that it's no problem.

The two of you continued walking. It's most likely that Raihan will absolutely be taking photos tonight, show the world how bombing his party is. Even if it is some of the dorkiest stuff. But hey, this is your kind of party so you can't complain. All you're left to wonder now, as the two of you enter the other room where the others who chose to stay resided in wait, is whether or not you'll create a new character just for this campaign or use a pre-existing one from campaigns of the past.

This will be the best D&D campaign yet, the great Raihan will make sure of that.
