Just a dream

I had a dream -
In which you starred
Caught in a scream
Oblivious to scars;

There were colours
But not so many.
You wore a cardigan
And looked a bit phony;

Couldn't see your face
Your back was facing me
You were all in my gaze
While you were watching tv;

Seemingly enough,
I was there too
Came from behind
After seeing you;

Your head didn't turn
I seemed to lack concern
Can still recollect the burn
For emotions I can't discern;

I closed the distance
And sat beside you
Took your hand in mine
You had not the slight clue;

I did not speak a word
As I sat there unaware
With our hands intwined
In my lap with care;

I decided to stay silent
For I had nothing to say
Bubbling with feelings
I couldn't have betrayed;

You had your face hidden
Yet I did not care
For I knew it was you
Now I know not from where;

You broke the silence
You spoke the words
I recall not the voice, only
How collected you were

Your muffled sound reached me
Left the lips I couldn't see
Agitated yet full of serenity
Graced with unambiguous certainty;

You talked about someone
I knew nothing about
You put her in a negative light
when you'd claimed before otherwise;

You stressed, "She does it on purpose"
I mind battled what was the fuss
You stated, "She takes both sides"
And also, "She wants to divide";

I did not know then
who did you mean
But I felt concerned if
She meant something to thee;

Curiosity bloomed
And I had to ask
"Why would you say that"
Were the words I unmasked;

I don't know why
I asked only that
But burning desire
Had still not left;

Before I could I ask more
My damned alarm buzzed
Never was I as disappointed
As I felt then.
