When we pulled up to school, Nicki, another friend of mine, walked up to us and greeted us with Starbucks and breakfast croissants. Nicki is a mix of black and Asian, what a lot of people call blasian. We've been friends since middle school.
I took the croissant and iced coffee and made my way to first period. My pre-calc teacher Mr. Thomson is such a pervert. He's always looking at the female students in an innapropriate way. Sometimes it makes me uncomfortable when he looks at me but in a way, I'm used to guys looking at me like that.
I found a seat closer to the back of the class. I sat my backpack down and started to eat my croissant. I finished as the rest of the class filed in.
"Good morning students. Last week you took the Unit 3 section 4 test. I graded them and most of you failed. Uh, Ashley, can you pass out the papers for me?" He asked a well known hoe. Ashley had been a hoe since middle school.
"Ms. Daniels, can you, um, come see me please." Mr. Thomson asked me.
I got up and walked to the front of the class. Mr. Thomson is an African American man in his early thirties. He's a nice looking man, just a little perverted.
"Yes Mr. Thomson?" I asked him politely. He looked up at me and smirked his award winning smirk.
"Well, Samiya, it looks like you got the highest grade on the test. Not only that, but you're the highest ranked student right now, out of all my classes." He told me while looking me up and down.
I couldn't help but smile. I started to think about it. What could that possibly mean? I don't even like this class, how is it so easy to me? When I snapped from my thoughts I noticed him looking at my breasts.
"Well, that doesn't mean anything. I've always been good at math. Its always been my strongest subject."
He flashed a smile and looked at my face. He looked over me and studied my body as if he could see through my clothes.
"Well, do you have a job? A young, beautiful, woman such as yourself should have some type of income." He smiled while still looking me over. I started to shift my weight from one leg to the other as I became slightly uncomfortable.
"Well, I don't have a job right now because I want to focus on school. But I'll start working when I graduate." I answered him but in reality I didn't want to get a job nor did I want to go to college.
College is more school after I finish school just to do something so easy as designing. I know I want to make a business out of it but I would have to go to business school.
"I have a cousin who owns an interior design shop. As I recall, that's what you say you're interested in. Am I correct?" He started talking in a more professional yet concerned tone. I'd be lying if I said it didn't turn me on. Just a little bit.
"Yeah. Im interested but I'm not completely sure if that's all I want to do." I told him honestly. He looked at me with a slight smile.
"Okay, how about this? I'll talk to my cousin about a paid internship. Show her what you're made of and see if you're really interested in that type of stuff."
"A paid internship? Are you serious? That would be amazing!" I exclaimed
His face showed excitement and delighted that I'd take him up on his offer. He told me a little more about it then it was time to start class. Once class was over he handed me a card with the numbers of business on it. I slid the card in the pocket of my vest and walked out of class.
I walked to my locker and seen Nicki. She looked worried about something and like she was looking for someone. I walked to my locker and put in the combination. She didn't even notice me.
"Hey Nicki pooh! Whatcha doing? " I said in a high pitch tone. She cracked a forced, small smile. She turned to open her locker.
"Hey Miya bae. Nothing. I, uh, have you seen Hakeem? I need to talk to him and I haven't seen or heard from him all morning." She said with a hint of concern in her voice.
"Not really. What's going on Nicki? You know you can talk to me." I told her as I touched her cheek. She hesitated to look my way.
She finally looked at me and what she told me had me in shock. I couldn't believe it. Nicki, my best friend, who has never been in any type of trouble since second grade is ........
Sorry had to do a cliff hanger. Had writers block but now I'm back again!! Feel free to leave feedback.
