Walking down an unusually empty and quiet road, Mr and Mrs Rajvansh admired the dark night sky twinkling with stars. With her head rested against his shoulder and their arms linked together, they peacefully strolled their way back home after a big night out.
"accha hua, transport ki strike hui haina? At least we got an excuse to spend more time together," Abir said.
"haan Abir, it's been so long since we spent a night like this. Just you, me and your favourite companion." Mishti replied
Tilting his head away, Abir asked, "Tumhara alawa, mera kaun favourite companion?"
Mishti instantly replied, "Taarein (stars) ofcourse. Tum hi tho kehthe ho."
Abir just smiled back and couldn't help shaking his head watching Mishti giggle. He squeezed her hand tightly with his and gave a quick peck on her palm. A little while later, they began to walk up a steep hill, and soon Abir looked back to find her trailing a few steps behind. He looked down to notice her feet were becoming red from standing and walking in those big heels for hours.
"Abiiir, I can't go anymore. My feet are killing me,"Mishti sighed. She slumped on to the nearest bench, and began removing her heels.
"Arre yaar, why do you do this to yourself? I told you not to wear heels. Ab dekho?" Abir kindly scolded her. "You just don't appreciate our accha khasa height difference at all" moaned Abir teasingly.
Mishti pursed her lips and rolled her eyes, at her ajeeb husband and his ajeeb baatein. "haan haan ok. But how could I not dress up for tonight? Mera hubby "entrepreneur of the year" ka award jo mil raha tha, I wanted it to be special." Mishti replied.
Abir raised his eyebrow and stared back at his wife asking, 'seriously?'
"Oh come on yaar, the feet pain is nothing! Anything for my hubby" and gave him a big child-like smile. Suddenly it transformed into a pout, Mishti wiggled her index finger and said, "No no no. I'm sorry" pointing at the tall man standing in front of her, she corrected "not my husband...THE entrepreneur of the year," Mishti winked.
Abir rolled his eyes 'whatever' but couldn't help smiling sheepishly at his wife's childish nautanki. Before reaching for her hand, Abir took a step back and asked hesitantly, "hang on a sec, did you have something to drink at the party?"
Mishti's eyes immediately popped out like a deer caught in front of headlights. She started to dart her eyes from left to right and turned away to avoid his gaze. From the corner of her eyes, she could still feel his glare waiting for her answer. She softly confessed, "hmm...I may have had a shot or two," slightly biting her lip. She then cautiously turned around and tried to read his face for any reaction. Not before long, they both burst into laughter together, breaking the moment of silence. Abir forwarded his hand signalling 'chalo get up'. Mishti grabbed her heels in one hand, and held her husband's in another. But before she could lay her bare foot on the cool concrete ground, Abir interrupted,
"Arre kya kar rahi ho? I'm not letting you walk in those sore feet all the way home."
"It's okay Abir, I feel better walking without them anyway."
"Yeah I know. But I've got a better idea," as he replied Abir swiftly lifted her by her waist and placed her up on the bench and turned his back to her. Before Mishti could respond, her arms were securely wrapped around her his neck.
"A-abir! Wait!" Mishti squealed. "As much as I would love to have this piggy-back ride now, I can't."
Abir turned around to see her pointing at her outfit. He had already noticed earlier this evening; how beautiful she was in that gorgeous dress. Although he had won a prestigious award, he just couldn't take his eyes off the 'prize' (a/n: no intention to objectify women) standing in front of him in the shining moonlight. So, he took this chance, to just have an extra good look at his wife. Of course, her natural beauty meant she could pull of any look. But there was just something about these flowery dresses that he always liked and misses them after their marriage. It reminds him of the Mishti he fell in love with-simple, seedha saadha lekin bohut khubsoorat

Meanwhile, Mishti snapped her fingers in front of her husband's lost face and said, "Hellooo, Mr Ajeeb rajvansh, kaha koh gaye ho?" Abir immediately shook his head out of his trance and without saying a word, he simply removed his coat and placed it around Mishti's shoulder. She just smiled coyly and watched Abir return to his position. She quickly secured her arms back around his shoulders and in one swift motion jumped on to his back, whilst his strong arms supported her legs around his hips.
Ensuring she felt comfortable, Abir gently tossed her up and asked, "Chalein wifey?"
Mishti squeezed her arms around his neck and gave him a quick tight hug before cutely squealing "Yes! Chalo hubby."
And they continued their journey home together under the sparkling night sky.
