"What more do they want from me? I told them all about my parents, didn't I?" I said, feeling irritated.
She cleared her throat, "Yeah, you did, but I heard Dad tell Mom that they think they might have found something. And somehow that information requires information from us."
Something seems fishy, but I nod anyway, "I want a shower and then I'm ready if you are. Sooner we get it over with the better."
"Okay. Well you know where everything is, right? I'll leave you to it."
A hot shower is definitely what I needed, I think, as I stand under the burning hot water. I already shampooed and everything, but just standing here feels so good and I can just focus on that feeling. I hear a banging on the door, "Save me some hot water India! Jeez, you've been in there forever! You okay in there?"
I didn't realize it had been a long time, "I'll be out in a second!" I shouted and turned the shower off. I dry off and put my hair up in the towel after I got dressed. I open the door and she's sitting on the floor beside the door with all of her shower things. She was in one of those weird trance-like things.
A few seconds later she looked up, "Hey, you're out of the shower!"
I squinted my eyes at her, "You were seeing something. What was it?"
"Some new guy is coming into our lives," she shrugged like it was normal to know these things, which I guess it is for her.
She started to close the door, but I stopped it with my foot, "Ow. Did the guy have dark brown eyes and medium brown hair?"
She tilted her head, "Dark brown eyes yes, but I didn't get to see the hair. How'd you know?"
I sighed, "Remember when we were leaving McDonald's yesterday and there was that dreamy guy? He had dark brown eyes. Do you think he has something to do with my parents?" If he did I knew I'd be devastated even though I didn't know him.
"I remember you saying something about him, but you didn't say anything about eyes did you? And no, I don't think he has anything to do with your parents, I get a good feeling about him. Too bad he isn't my type."
"You have a type?"
"Yes, of course. Blue-eyed, blondies, or blue-eyed black hair."
"I'll keep my eye out for you. Just let me know if you know anything else okay?"
"Kay," closing the door in my face.
She knew something more about the guy that she wasn't telling me, but maybe it was one of those life-changing things that I can't know or it would change everything. There's always the possibility that she just doesn't want to tell me. If it's the latter, I'm going to be so mad at her. I put my stuff on the floor by the futon and got my brush. I dry my hair a little more and then I put my towel down too. I am still brushing out the tangles in my hair by the time Blaire comes in.
"Jeez, it's a good thing we aren't going to school today because you take forever to get ready. Never realized how long before," she says, throwing her things down and grabbing her own brush from a drawer and starts brushing her long, almost white blond hair. It was longer than mine, but thinner and straight so she still finished with her hair before me. I decided not to bother with hair spray and all that and just go with a ponytail. I didn't have anything to prove to anyone and I wasn't going anywhere but the police station, so who cared?
Blaire comes back in the room, "You're not going like that, let me do your hair."
She did a quick fishtail braid to the side and nodded with satisfaction at her work in the mirror, "Much better. Oh and please put on a cuter shirt. You can thank me later," and walked out of the room, "Oh, breakfast is ready!" she called from the hall.
