Lilah stared at the note for a few seconds, trying to process it.
Her phone alarm went off.
7:35- wake up dumbass and go to school
She stuffed the note in her pocket, and ran out of her room to the door.
She stopped for a moment to say goodbye to her parents, but decided not to, and jumped on her bike.
Lilah finally reached the school doors, and rushed to her classroom.
A few staff had looked at her weirdly, but she continued to sprint down the halls.
She shoved her hand in her backpack, looking for her homework.
Mrs. Allen turned her head, "Lilah Diaz, late as always."
Lilah muttered something under her breath.
The teacher looked back up, "Care to repeat that sentence, Ms. Lilah?"
She sunk into her chair, hunching her shoulders in an attempt to hide herself as her classmates giggled at her.
"Now now, no need to laugh at a good representation of a bad day. We all have them."
The class almost all rolled their eyes mentally, and ignored Mrs. Allen's comment.
"Ms. Lilah, would you find it appealing to see the counselor about your bad day?"
Lilah gave up resisting the urge to talk back. "One time I told them I was being physically and verbally bullied for coming out as bi, and they said I should apologize."
The class all laughed once more.
Mrs. Allen rolled her eyes in a playful way those teachers do to ignore your aggressive comments.
The teacher spoke up again, opening up her textbook. "Now, since 4 kids didn't turn in their homework for last night, I'll be teaching that unit and the next one."
All the students groaned, and grabbed their textbooks.
One of the girls raised her hand, "Excuse me Ms, don't you think it's a little unfair to punish all of us for four students' mistakes?"
Mrs. Allen responded to her, but Lilah felt herself drifting off again.
"Wake up, you're gonna sleep out the entire school day. Or year for that matter," A voice said to her, waking her up.
Lilah lifted her head from a textbook she seemingly used as a pillow.
Almost everyone was looking at Lilah, including the teacher.
She tried to fix her messy hair, but was interrupted.
RING!!
The bell rung, but Mrs. Allen kept her eyes on Lilah.
She grabbed her bag, and walked out of class.
Lilah didn't remember much except for being sent to the nurse's office, and proceeding to be sent home.
She grabbed her bike, and pedalled all the way back to her brick house.
She walked up the stairs, and hit her head on her desk.
After a while of silence, Lilah pulled out the note from her bag.
She stared at it for a while, and picked up her pencil and another paper.
