'Never had I been so aware of my heart thumping against my chest as he caressed my face. His green eyes have love written all over them. He twirled a small piece of my hair between his strong fingers. I trusted him even though I had no idea who he was. His breath tickles my neck as he gently kissed my cheek. Without knowing it we lay in the soft grass under the canopy of trees. My white dress catches the wind, puffing up. The winds so gentle and comforting. He leaves a trail of kisses with his lips along my collarbone. His white puffy shirt unbuttoned down to his chest where toned muscles lie.
I wrap my arms around his waist, pulling myself closer to the man. His chest becomes my warm pillow. His nose buries into my honey brunette hair. He takes the clip that holds my hair up and pulls it out, letting my hair fall in waves among the grass. his fingers glide through my untangled hair as his lips meet mine. My hands curl around his framed shoulders. Tingles spread through my lips. '
My blue eyes open to the unsettling sight of an empty bed. My arms cuddle a pillow; my lips no longer tingling. I dreamt again of this stranger who had stolen my heart with a kiss. The dream was also a memory, but modified. My love, James the Fifth, and I had that exact moment two hundred years ago. James died twenty years after that event, leaving me with these reoccurring dreams of the memory and the stranger replacing James. My disappointment still returns also when I am pulled back to reality with no one to hold. I am alone and always will be, the dream torments me by reminding me of the fact. That man will never be in my arms because no one will replace James. No one could steal my heart and fix its wounds from the death of my lover. Being immortal only gives me more time to mourn and sulk. Being immortal means that I will live with the regret of knowing I could have saved my lover, but didn't. Being immortal meant I could have stopped myself from loosing control and freezing him.
