Shieldfreedens' Hero

Chapter 1: National Decision

Kingdoms are still struggling through what has happened during the waves. Many people lost their loved ones. Numerous lost their homes or even villages. Nobel families used this as an opportunity to enslave the weak demi-humans. So one-day Idols' army busted into the Rock Vally and enslaved all demi-humans as they could not defend themselves.  Demi-humans surrounded quickly as they craved to be alive.

- Don't worry Raphtalia. We will be ok I am sure of it!- spoke a male voice. It was the father of a tiny girl. He was badly wounded during the waves' strike. A monster chewed his arm off as he tried to protect ones he cherished.

-But dad... They are separating us from each other! What will they do to us?- young Raphtalia questioned. Her father smiled to her then continued to obey Idols' Guards to his land. 

- Kids follow me! NOW!- one of the guards yelled. Raphtalias father was against it but he was immediately turned down. As guards tormented him, the little girl sobbed. Few minutes passed in silence. Little Raphtalia was with her two friends, Keel and Rifana. They were embracing and supporting each other. 

- I am afraid... I-I can hear them scream... What do you think they are doing to them?...- Rifana sobbed. Raphtalia knew it was frightening since Keel was alerted at all time. She would spend her nights begging gods for Shield Heros' arrival. She would beg for mercy and freedom. As time went on she slowly started to lose hope. She cried every time someone screamed not far away from her cell.

*** At royalties meeting ***

- Mirellia we all know that our world is in greater danger! Waves have already made big damage to more than half of our population! We need to do something!-  Yoshimura Shuji argued, ruler of Faubrey.

- I understand your concerns, my dear Yoshimura... And I do have a proposal.- Queen Mirellia of Melromarc answered calmly but troubled.

- And what would that be?!- King Akoi Katsuro slammed his hand onto the wooden counter.

- I suggest for each country to summon one hero to defend it and its' surroundings. Let's say that Zeltoble could summon Bow Hero and he would protect only Zeltoble. Q'ten Lo shall summon Sword Hero and he shall protect Q'ten Lo and Rock Vally. Melromarc shall summon Spear Hero and he shall protect Melromarc. And lastly, Shieldfreeden shall summon Shield Hero and he shall shield Shieldfreeden, Siltvelt and Faubley.- and she completed her offer.

- And why do you all get a hero for yourselves but we have to share one?!- Akoi charged.

- Because we are lands for ourselves. But since you need a hero to protect 3 great nations I gave you Shield Hero, most powerful one amongst Four Cardinal Heroes. Any questions?- she coldly brushed him off. The young ruler stayed silent for the rest of the discussion.

- So you are advising for my kingdom to summon Shield Hero? I assure you that we will summon him as quickly as possible.- Queen Furutani Tomoko insured. So did others.

That same night princess Miyako Tomoko second of Shieldfreeden met princess Melty S of Melromarc. Young Tomoko played with Melty during the conference. Melty had no problem playing with the young princess as she adored little children. They played for a while when prince Ike appeared rushing through the corridor.

- WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!? YOU'VE GOT ME WORRIED!- he shouted. The little princess burst into tears after hearing him yelling. He panicked after noticing her crying. Then he hurried up and excused himself to her. She looked up with a bit reddish eyes, then turned to Melty and said her goodbye. Holding her big brothers' hand they faded far away as the corridor stretches. Melty, on the other hand, fled back to her room. She thought that it would be nice if she was in there awaiting her mother. A few minutes later what seemed to Melty like an infinity her mother eventually appeared. Melty jumped off of her bed and ran to her mother. Firstly she hugged her tight. And then proceeded with questions.

- So? What is your final decision???- she asked.

In a room on the other side of the building were the princess and the prince. They both awaited their mother with final decisions, well at least the prince did. The young princess played with her little dolls her kingdom created for her. She played quietly, trying not to disrupt her elder brother. Soon enough queen Furutani entered the room with joy. She was satisfied that her kingdom is chosen to summon Shield Hero.

- Mother! You are finally here. So what have you decided?- prince Ike asked quickly.

- Oh, my dear. There is no for you to worry about things like this. Yes, you are my Hier but you are too young to worry about it right now.- she explained herself before he could say anything. Ike looked through the window nearby, he fell deep into his thought while gazing into a dark abyss from the other side of the window. He sighted with tension.

' I just want to help mother...' he thought. Before they knew, dawn has arrived and set its' first sunlight through windows of the high building. Everyone was now on their way to their lands. Except for queen Furutani, she wasted her time on waking up her kids. By the time she left, others were far away from her eyesight. 

- Mother... I want to be Heros' party member...- Ike maintained as their carriage shook during its movement. Queen glanced at prince but spoke nothing. She was strictly against it. She was strict to the point that she didn't allow him to fight throughout the first wave. And prince Ike has been training ever since he was 6 years old. Six years of training shouldn't be wasted. But the queen was too afraid to lose him, she has already lost her younger sibling. Ike was a bit bothered by his mothers' response, but he kept quiet. She landed a glance at him once again, then gave a heavy sigh.

- Only if! Hero approves it.- then she proceeded with her answer. Ikes' eyes ignited like two gorgeous shiny stars. Finally, his mother gave him a chance to prove himself. He did his best to maintain his excitement hidden. For the rest of the journey, no one said a word.

[ I have just started with this fanfic and I am wondering if I should continue. Btw I am sorry if there is something I missed here. Also, I've put in some of my own characters just so I can fill up the story. ONE MORE THING THIS IS NOT MY STORY I AM JUST WRITING MY FANFICTION. I hope you enjoyed it! <3 ]
