Chapter 1 storm clouds ahead.
The day had been long, and perilous. There had been at least three attempts on her life so far, what would tomorrow bring, if not more pain and suffering to her and those around her. It had to stop. She sighed heavily before turning to her companion.
"Caius. We need to leave this place, yesterday it was you they targeted, and today it was me, whose next? This can't keep happening; we have put these people through enough already. We must leave before Dawn."
"I have to agree, but don't you think we should leave earlier, at least a few hours before dawn, that way the last watch is not that alert."
"Fine, but we have to travel light from now on we have a three day hike through the forest yet and we can afford to carry the extra weight." In saying this realisation of the task ahead suddenly loomed above them like a dark cloud threatening a storm. Little did they know that was yet to come?
It was still another four hours until dawn and Caius and Ria had finalised all that they needed to ensure the safety of the people that had helped them.
Both carrying a light pack containing there cloths, provisions as well as cooking equipment for each person, in the case they were separated.
They set off through the dark streets, being careful to make only the slightest of sounds that could not be prevented. Cautiously they made their way to the outskirts of the forest where they found two horses waiting for them. Attached to the saddle of one of the horses was a not reading
The journey ahead if you will be fraught with perils that both of you alone will need help to complete. Along your road I implore to help those in need and in turn to not shy from welcoming help. But be cautious. There are many who wish to stop you from finding out that you two really are. You will find me in the centre of the forest. There is no path so be careful. To find my dwelling at the ancient willow speak the words of old and the doors will open. Good luck.
In this the two rode off into the waiting tree line, little did they know that from that moment on there would be no turning back.

Chapter 2 - the Onset
The trees seemed to shift and move around them and an eerie silence seemed to hang in the air around them. This forest was ancient; the trees themselves seemed to follow their every move almost as if they were waiting in anticipation for something to happen.
"Caius, were being watched." RIA said in hushed tones as she looked around. "I know, it's the tree's." this had brought a new awareness to their task. They originally started their journey just meaning only to get away from their families. Instead it had turned into a frantic run from assains, murderers, renegade bands and other various bands of people that had wanted them permanently out of the picture. He hadn't told RIA, but he knew why they were being hunted. She was the last remaining free guardian. She was the only one who could free the others and re-unite the kingdom under one banner to fight against the forces of oppression and darkness.
