After talking to Rowena's father, and Lord Arryn agreeing to the match, Rowena and Hermione were informed.  Hermione squealed and hugged her father, then hugged Rowena, “I'm so happy, Rowena, you're going to be my new mother!”

Rowena smiled at the little girl and hugged her tightly, “I am also happy that you are going to be my daughter, Sweetling,” Rowena said and kissed the top of Hermione's head.

Hermione gave Rowena one last fierce hug then let go, “I have to find Elbert and tell him, I'm getting a mother,” Hermione said then took off running to find her cousin.

For her part, Rowena was content at the idea of marrying Jon. She liked Jon; he was still very handsome with his blonde hair and amazing blue eyes. He was a kind and considerate man who doted on his daughter. Rowena was convinced that they would get along just fine. Now that everything was settled, the plans for the wedding began. It took two months for the marriage to be arranged and for all the guests to arrive. All of the Vale's bannerman was invited from House Royce of the Gates of the Moon to House Baelish. In total there were thirty-one Houses invited to Jon and Rowena's wedding.

On the day of the ceremony, Hermione sat in the front with her cousin and her aunt and uncle Royce on her mother's side. They waited for Rowena to be walked down the aisle by her father. Hermione turned around when she heard the doors of the Sept open; she gasped when she saw Rowena coming down the aisle with her father. Rowena was a vision of loveliness in her white and blue wedding dress, her long brown braided in the Southern style and her beautiful maiden cloak across her shoulders.

Rowena looked nervous as she walked down the aisle until she spotted Hermione smiling at her. Rowena returned the toddler's smile and continued to walk towards Jon. When they arrived next to Jon, Rowena's father removed her maiden cloak, and it was replaced with the cloak of House Arryn. The Septon began the ceremony.

The Septon tied a ribbon around the couples joined hand, “My lords, my ladies, we stand here in the sight of gods and men to witness the union of man and wife. One flesh, one heart, one soul, now and forever. Let it be known that Jon Arryn of House Arryn and Rowen Arryn of House Arryn is one heart, one flesh, one soul. Cursed be he who would seek to tear them asunder. In the sight of the Seven, I at this moment seal these two souls, binding them as one for eternity.” After the Septon says this, he unravels the ribbon - they remain metaphorically joined for the rest of their lives.

The Septon then commands, “Look upon each other and say the words, Father, Smith, Warrior, Mother, Maiden, Crone, Stranger,”

Immediately following this, still speaking simultaneously, they recite their main vows: Jon says, “I am hers, and she is mine. From this day, until the end of my days,” while the Rowena at the same time says, “I am his, and he is mine. From this day until the end of my days.”

They sealed the ceremony with a kiss, and everyone cheered. After the wedding, everyone headed into the main hall for the wedding feast. Jon and Rowena sat at the High Table with Hermione sitting on the other side of her father. The feast went on for several hours; there was a great deal of dancing, singing, and drinking. Hermione was allowed to stay up as long as she could. She danced with her father and then with her new mother. She danced with her cousin Elbert and her uncle Lord Royce. Finally, Hermione grew tired and was escorted out of the hall by her nursemaid, but not before receiving a kiss from Jon and Rowena.
