I'm sorry it's late.

My breath got caught in my lungs for a second from being caught off guard. I’m dating who?

His arm wrapped its self around my waist protectively in an almost automatically awkward way. It was very awkward how he did it. Our arms seemed to be tangled and confused for a second before our arms finally settled in their place.

“Yeah… me and Jackson are dating…” I pointed between the two of us, “it’s supposed to be a secret you know. So like, don’t tell anyone.” I lied. Me and Jackson? Please.

We watched his heart break in two then try to hide it with a sad smile. “I always knew there was something between you two.” he holds his smile but quiet thoughts manage to seep between the gaps of his teeth. “You should have told me but I guess that’s what happens when you’re an idiot. Excuse me.” He pushed past us and shoulder barged Jackson’s shoulder but he just ignored it.

I held in my laugh. Me and Jackson? Together? Hahahahahaha. No. There is nothing between us. I looked at him for a bit. His sandy blond hair and blue eyes. No. I don’t like blue eyed blonds. Soz.

We continued up the steps through the halls and he moved his arm away from my waist to my shoulder and I held onto his fingers, “What were you doing out there?” I asked lightly making conversation. “I go for runs in the morning too you know. Just not as early or as far.” he playfully tapped my nose at the end of his sentence and I laughed. “Okay fine that’s true. What do you have first?” I asked as I smiled at him. “I don’t know. I haven’t even looked at my schedule.”

Neither.

“Okay well,” I pulled his arm away using my thumb and middle finger, “I should go get ready, school starts at eight.” I started walking away before he called me back and held his arms out and open. “I don’t even get a ‘hey, it’s been so long’ hug?”

I smiled “Okay fine!” I said, only to be polite. I walked in to his open arms and he twirled me around in them, hugging me close. “Put me down!” I wailed. You are like the worst hugger! He slowed down and put my feet on the ground softly and kissed my forehead, “Only because I was getting dizzy.” He whispers before pulling away. “Later.” He said over his shoulder.

If I was romantically attached to him. I would be confused.

Once I was back at my room I noticed it was a bit chilly and empty of everyone but Natalia. “You should really wait for your ankle to heal before you get back into everything.” She said nonchalantly. I pulled my hoodie up over my shoulders, “Did you eat?” I asked. “Yes Quinn. I did eat. And I know you didn’t. I ran a bath for you and ironed your uniform.” She said nonchalantly. I watched her make the beds before she looked up at me.

“I had a nightmare.” She says.

I nod then leave for the bathroom to get ready. Natalia comes in halfway through to hang my uniform and a towel on a hook. I always forget a towel! “Thank you!” I yelled out to her. “Shut up.” She yelled back.

I laughed. “Well someone had a bowl of cranky with a side of bitch this morning!” I yelled through the wall. I could feel her growling at me. “I’m not cranky!” she yelled back. I smiled to myself and got out of the bath stretching for my towel when she walked in again dressed in her uniform and blazer. “I’m just pissed off!” she threw me a random underwear I only just managed to catch before it fell into the bath. I wrapped my towel around me, “Trouble in paradise?” I teased. “Ian can be such an asshole sometimes! He just_ argh!” she threw a bra at me.
