sixteen, he thought repetitively, i was sixteen.

louis' thoughts were interrupted by a child, his child.

"daddy?"

"yes, love?"

"are we there yet?"

louis sighed, although he did have a point. driving for hours and hours and days on end, freelancing at every opportunity you can get, can be quite boring.

"no, zaynie. not yet. but we're gonna be there soon, okay?"

"okay."

the colourful lights blinded me every time i moved my eyes, although i guess this is how clubs work.

my vodka swayed in the glass, as i tapped my foot to the beat of the unidentifiable song that was blasting through the speakers in the background.

i stared at it, before gulping it down with one swig.

"top up, sir?"

"fuck yeah."

i guessed being in clubs weren't that bad.

until.

her.

her name was eleanor.

and me being the depressed little shit i was, fell for her.

she was swaying about a meter and a half away from me, making eye contact with me every few seconds.

she was so beautiful.

she started walking towards me.

i took another gulp of my vodka.

"hi, you're hot." she said. her voice was low and she sounded drunk.

i cringed.

"thanks."

"wanna dance?"

why did i say yes?

the dancefloor was a lot more crowded than my barstool, and i hated it. but, it was the first time in forever when i felt free and in the zone.

i can vaguely remember what happened.

all i can remember is we we're in a hotel room, and then i woke up, and i left. not saying goodbye.

i wandered around town, still morbidly depressed from the events that had happened in the past week.

i found a park, and without hesitation i sat down on the bench and went to sleep.

i was woken up by my phone, ringing in my pocket. i took it out, bleary eyed, and saw it was coming from none other than eleanor. the woman who had forcefully put her number in my phone for "later".

"hello?" i said, clearing my throat from the raspy voice. she didn't answer for a while, so i hovered over the end call button, until she started to speak.
