I remembered your face being the first thing I reached for in the mornings before all this mishap. You'd stay at my house and I'd always wake you up with a kiss on the nose but never in a weird way, we were just close like that. Max why was today different all of a sudden? I wake up today and you weren't in bed, I just assumed you were in the bathroom and dozed back off but when I woke again it was almost noon and you weren't there still. I checked my phone and no text nor call telling me if he was alright but you know maybe it's one of his off days. As I started getting ready for my day I hear my phone buzz thinking it was you but it was Novah and Cameron.

I set my phone down and finish putting on my earrings. Gold hoops and a crybaby necklace. My usual attire. 5 minutes or so pass and I hear a honk I hurry grab my keys and wallet and get out of there before mom notices. I jump in the car and tell Novah to speed off and she does as I ask. "You know your mom really shouldn't care about what you do youre almost 18 take a load off" Cameron says. "You don't know my mom she's had 2 other kids that didn't even graduate and she thinks I'm just gonna flake out cause I have friends" I laughed. "Yeah well has she found out about Max sleeping over all the time?" Novah laughs as we pull in the line for coffee. "Nope and I don't intend on telling her" I say sorta snarky "okay but think about it you and Max look like you are getting super close so Novah does have a point" Cameron says. "Maybe your right but after today I don't think so" I say kinda sad. Novah orders our coffee and her red bull and we off we went to our favorite spot. The abandoned house on Oakland ridge in the woods. We're making it into somewhere we can stay when it's time for us to go. We've put in blanket , pillows and a queen sized air mattress. "So what was that comment you made about you and Max and that"maybe but after today I don't think so" bs?" Novah asked. I didn't wanna tell her, but I know she can see right through me. "He wasn't there this morning and he didn't text me or anything, I could just be being overdramatic." I say looking down and sipping my drink."oh come on it can't be that bad not waking up to him this morning he'll be there when you get home" Cameron says. "Yeah your right" I said. We sat there for a couple hours catching up and gossiping but around 6 I had to get home so my mom doesn't say anything. As we were driving up to my house all the lights were off which means moms either sleeping or she's gone but her cars not in the drive way. "Even tho she's not here I'm still glad I have the basement to myself" I say getting out of the car "Hey Luna let us know if Max comes back okay?" Novah says. " ofc I willlove you guys" I said blowing them a kiss. I get home and when I look over at my bed it's empty. I check the downstairs more and he's not there. "Wow just wow max where the hell are you." Maybe he just doesn't wanna be around me I don't know anymore
