as a young girl charlotte was the odd one out she hated pink and liked her hair short. charlottes' mother had always struggled with charlotte at home. her mother had always complained about how charlotte acted too boyish. she loved playing outside and with dirt. secretly she loved playing princesses and dress up. but she was so stubborn to play with the other girls. there was only one girl at St. Annes Pre-School that charlotte liked. every day during recess, she would admire the girl's kindness and beauty. she loved watching her run in the wind, pick flowers and give them to the teachers. she loved it when she'd dirty her perfect pink dress and huff. charlotte hated when she cried, her big blue eyes would fill with tears and charlotte would be too scared to help her so instead she watched from afar.
until one day the girl walked up to charlotte and had given her a sunflower. she asked her to come play with her and the other girls. and that's what she did. charlotte was surprised she had noticed her. none of the other girls talked to her. they made fun of her hair and her clothes. but this girl was different. she didn't care about charlottes mess hair or the dirt stains on her white skirt. from that day on she did anything to appease the girl. even if that meant wearing pink. if anyone had dared to hurt the girl charlotte would always protect her at all costs.
the day the girl asked charlotte to play with the girls she went home and asked her mom if she can wear a dress just like the pretty girl at school. her mother was surprised, to say the least, but had quickly obliged.
