Y/N's POV

"So...this is what a flower field looks like" I mumbled as I stared at the flower field.

The vibrant display of flowers covered the ground. Bold magenta, soft pink, and white flowers sat right in front of me.

There was a faint sound of busy bees rushing around to collect their daily share of pollen.

The sweet smell of blossomed flowers filled the air. The purple petals felt like soft velvet against my skin.

The sweet, almost sickly, smell of flowers cut through the soft scent of the dewy grass.

With the setting sun came a sky of fire, the orange of every wintry hearth.

It was the battle cry to the gathering night, that the only achievement of darkness is to show starlight all the more clearly.

It's been 9 years since we arrived in the human world. Everything has changed ever since.

All of my children are going to school. Some are even in their teen years. I have already become an adult along with Ray, Emma, and Norman.

Emma had regained her memories after 2 years of being with us which took longer than expected, but I'm glad she finally remembered us.

Norman travels around the world as he explores new regions that have not been discovered before.

He did mention something about wanting to explore the world once he gets 'adopted'. I'm glad he's doing what he always wanted to do.

Emma works as a zookeeper who is in charge of the giraffe department. She loves to ride giraffes when she gets the chance which is so an Emma thing.

Ray is the CEO of a popular business. He runs it without a problem despite being only 24.

Quite young to be a CEO, right? He truly is amazing.

"Y/n, 13 years ago you captured my heart by being exactly who you are. The sweetest, most loving, compassionate, and strongest person I have ever known." Ray said from behind me.

"You have been my very best friend through the good and the bad. You have been the reason I smile and continue to fight. You have believed in me when no one else would, and you have shown me how to love with passion, purity, and unconditional acceptance." Ray rambled.

"Ray, what are you suddenly talking about?" I giggled as I turned around to face him.

He looked serious. I easily get scared when he's serious, because you never know what's going on in his mind.

"I'm not sure if a lifetime is long enough to return all you have given to me, but I promise the rest of my days that I'll spend by your side." he paused as he looked at me in the eye.

"Being with you is already enough..." I mumbled as the strings of my heart tightened. He grabbed my hands in his which surprised me. Ray can be so sweet at times.
