~Prologue~
" Mom, where's dad?"
One question that leads to many answers, but only one she wishes not to hear.
" Your father left."
Three simple words but when spoken together can destroy one's view of life. That was it Little Lindsey's life came crumbling to pieces right that second. It funny on how one minute life is about sunshine and rainbows then the next is a thunder storm pouring down on her.
'What about school? What about mom? What about Callie? What will happen to them now?'
The thought crossed her mind as her eyes began to swell up with tears of anger towards the man she used to call "dad." Falling to her knees, that was the first time she cried in the past 5 years of her once perfect life. Her heart sank to the pit of her stomach. Another question lingers her mind, but she knows she will never get the answer from it.
'Why?'
Weren't they enough for him? Did she fail as a daughter? How could a man who only showed so much joy and love to them ever leave them behind to rot and mourn? They didn't deserve this. No one deserves this kind of injustice. That bittersweet saying was right, a man who shows a smile outside could be dying on the inside.
Suddenly, a loud knock was heard from the door. Wondering who on earth can be put in this kind of time and in this kind of weather? Her eyes focused themselves on the door as her mother opened the door a man stood with a gaze locked to hers. He looked frightening and intimidating but he didn't scare her.
"Who are you?" Her voice sounded hoarse from all of the weeping.
" Alexander Night."
