21 year old Nialla's POV

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did it. I've finally saved enough money to visit him. I decide that I'm going to surprise him there and I pack my bags and chuck them into my car. I don't bother to tell my mom and parents are divorced so I just go for it and drive.

In Brighton

I look at the directions to his house. I can believe he moved out of his parents house into a house. I would think that he'd have a flat. I pull into a large driveway with a small front yard. There are trees that have lost all of their leaves and the walls are made of stone. I park my car and leave my bags in the car. My legs felt like jelly all of the sudden and I didn't think I could walk up to the door. You can do this Ni. You'll become best friends again and it will seem that nothing is different.

I finally pull up the courage to walk to the door and ring the door bell. "One second, I'm coming!" I hear a girls voice say and thumping down the stairs. A girl who looks about my age or older opens the door she's quite short with ombré hair and bright blue eyes. She has very different features, but she's actually really pretty. "Who are you?" She says. "Is there an Alfie who lives here? He used to be a good friend." I said. "Alfie!" She calls over her shoulder. I see a familiar guy walking up to the door. He looks like Alfie, he sounds like Alfie, but he's wearing different clothes, has stubble and looks to be 22 not 16. "Hello?" He says to me. "Hi Alfie do you remember me? When you lived in London we were best friends." "What's your name?" He asked me looking half remembering and half puzzled. "Nialla Hartley." I reply. His eyes widen but as soon as they do they go to normal size and he gives me the death stare. He turns on his heel and says "shut the door, Zoë. I don't know her." "But Alfie are you sure?" "Please Alfie I didn't mean to ditch you when you left!" I yelled, not being able to control my anger. Alfie walks back up to the door with a pug on a leash. The cutest dog I've ever seen. "Whatever. I'm going to take Nala on a walk ok Zoë? "Okay." Zoë says looking puzzled. I would too if I was in this situation.

He walks past me with the pug who is staring at me barking every few seconds as they head down the icy road. Without thinking I run after him. As soon as he notices I'm following him he picks up speed. "You know what I'm sorry! Just please let me speak!" "Fine! If you want to talk to me, meet me at Nando's at 7." He's calls back but continues walking. I walk back to his house and get in my car. I drive to a hotel. This is going to be a long day.
