author's P.O.V

two days after minjae's argument with her parents, they finally informed the police about her disappearance.

in her school it was the new hot topic. everyone would talk about it nonstop, not really caring about her well-being, but more just making up rumors and creating drama.

meanwhile, mingyu was wondering what could have happened to her. he had noticed how the week before her disappearance she had been getting skinnier, paler and she would have scars on her wrists. he noticed the scars the time she had given him her math notebook.

in reality, he did understand that class, he just wanted to approach her only once. he was intrigued by her.

she would always sit quietly and just pay attention to class. she would barely talk to anyone beside that sooyoung girl that apparently was her only friend.

he just wanted to know if she needed anything. he wanted to let her know he would support her of she ever needed it.

but he was too afraid. too afraid of being rejected. because being the new kid, you already have a lot of people over you, judging your every single move. he didn't think hanging out with the weirdo was the best start.

but once she disappeared, he regretted not approaching her sooner.

she seemed so bright at first. she would always smile at him. he felt like he should have at least said something to her.

but he didn't.

he thought that if he had done things different, things would have gone another way.

but they didn't.

the damage was done and the broken girl was slowly trying to fix herself on her own, while the new kid wanted to be the one to do that.
