Nagisa was restless, but refused to stop working. Even if he wanted to, he couldn't.
If his father caught him sleeping, he was already aware of what could happen.
The possible abuse, the yelling, the comments...
He knew his mother would do nothing about it of course, and just pay it no mind.
Nagisa was aware enough by now that no matter how many correct answers he got on a paper, no matter HOW many other students couldn't solve it...
...His father would always look down upon him for something even as simple as getting a single question wrong.
But Nagisa wanted to do more.
More than what his father expected.
More than anyone would imagine him being able to do.
More than that someone his age could do.
If people expected something of him, he wanted to make sure he exceeded it.
His parents had always put high expectations on him after all, and besides, if 'parents know best', he should be able to do what his father wants most.
...For him to succeed.
