A few weeks had gone by. I'd kept pretending to like Ava and PB and me met behind her back. In our eyes, this was the only way we could get away with being together, otherwise my parents would find out and make me go to a different school like last time.

I became good friends with all of Ava's and PB's friends. Ava was very defensive, so if one of her girl friends even looked me in my eyes, she'd glared at them with the most evil glare she had. I hadn't wanted to know what would happen if any of them went farther than looking at me. They invited me to sleepovers but I refused in fear that Ava might do something to them or me and I wasn't gonna try anything.

I sat down in my usual lunch spot, laughing along with Ava and her friends. I looked Ava in her eyes, thinking about what I was doing. 'What's gonna happen when she finds out?' I wondered. I smiled and looked back at my food. 'That won't happen. I'll wait awhile longer then break up with her so it'll hurt less.'

It still ate away at me that I was using her just to be with PB.

Ava put her hands on my shoulder and shook me, a huge smile on her face, excited about something. "My brother's throwing a big party at our house!" She said. "He wants to do one every year of high school. Last year's party didn't turn out well so we're hoping this year will be better."

"Alright," I replied. "So you want me to go?"

"Of course!" Ava looked super excited and happy, and this was another chance to see PB.

"Okay, when is it?"

"This weekend. It's supposed to be just on Saturday til' midnight but you can stay as long as you want." Ava kept rambling on about the party. I was glad to see a smile on her face. I hoped that it would never go away.

I nodded my head and smiled as she kept talking. All I could think about, though, was being able to hang out with PB longer. When she finally got quiet and stopped talking about the party, the bell dismissing us from lunch rang. I ruffled Ava's hair and kissed her on her cheek, walking to my locker and grabbing my stuff for my next class. I was lucky it was Friday, we wouldn't be doing a lot of important things in my last class. Our teacher was super chill so he never assigned homework over the weekend and I never paid that much attention, anyways. I was staring off into space, thinking about what me and PB would do. I was excited for the party and being able to see him again. Before I knew it, the last bell that dismissed us to pack our bags and leave rang. It pulled me out of my head and I sighed, picking up my stuff and throwing it in my locker. I was going to do what I always did and do any homework I got before and during classes.

I stared out the window on the bus that I rode alone. Everyone else refused to take the spot next to me and by the time I made any friends, our seats were official and we had to stay there or get in trouble.

When my stop came, I walked home and immediately went in my closet to look for something to wear for the next day. I decided a plain white t-shirt and a jean jacket with a pair of regular jeans would be good.

I jumped on my bed and stared at the ceiling, thinking about the party.
