Clark could barely breath with the way Shannon had been attached to him. He didn't really blame her after what had happened with the fortress and then their unwelcome guests, he knew she just worried.
"Shannon, how about you let me go to work at the paper. I'll be back in a few hours."
"Really? Do you have to?"
"Yes, now why don't you help Chloe on her wedding."
"Alright I can do that."
"Well they are holding it here and you know Lois is going to be giving all those trying to set up a hard time."
"Then your not going to work are you?"
"No, I was going to go make sure things were brought to the house."
"I don't know about you."
"Its her special day, and since she doesn't have memories of my secret."
"Clark I know. Mine is just a little harder to hide."
"I know, I wouldn't make her forget. She cares deeply about you even sees you as a sister."
"I know. Alright get the caterers working on food in here I will go out and get things working before Lois gets here."
"She will be here soon."
"I know."
Shannon knew it was hard on Clark to deal with all that was going on, but she knew that after what had happened with her own people she knew he could handle it. She walked toward the barn to hear Lois already barking orders.
"Lois."
"WHAT!"
"Calm down."
"Sorry, what did you need?"
"For you to stop making the staff cry. I've already seen two people enter the house upset. They passed me on my way to the barn. So calm down."
"Again sorry. But I want it to be perfect for Chloe."
"And it will, as long as you don't scare everyone away."
"I'll try not to."
"That's all I can ask." Shannon said, she turned and headed back into the house.
She could hear Clark arguing with someone and as she walked further into the room she looked at Oliver.
"What do you want Oliver?"
"Why hello Shannon, I thought you would be happy to see me."
"You tend to want something from Clark as of late, still on your hunt for Lex?"
"Yes, I have a lead on him, I just need Clark for a few hours."
"He promised to be here for Chloe."
"She will understand."
"No she won't, when I had her memories restored I kept the ones of my secret from her. And I will not disappoint her."
"Just an hour, you will be back before anything happens."
Shannon moved forward, her eyes nearly glowing while she grabbed Oliver by the front his shirt.
"If he doesn't return fast enough, your jet won't get your far enough from me, am I clear."
"As crystal." He said as he was released.
"I'll be back." Clark said kissing before following Oliver from the house.
Shannon sat upstairs waiting for Clark to return. He had been gone almost two hours. Clark walked into their bedroom to see her sitting there, already dressed for the wedding.
"You're late." Was all she said to him.
"That was my fault not Oliver's."
"Get changed so that Lois can change, she is in the shower."
"Shannon, look at me, I am sorry I am late."
"I know, get changed. I love you." She said standing giving him a kiss.
Clark came down a short time later, he was still fighting with his cufflinks. Both him and Shannon looked up as Lois started down the stairs.
"You look beautiful Lois." Shannon remarked. Lois smiled and looked at Clark.
"Having a problem?"
"I've never worn them they were my dads." He said to her, Lois walked toward him and fixed the cufflinks for him.
Shannon had never been so proud and happy for her friend as Clark walked her down the aisle. This perfect day could never get any better as everyone was filled with happiness.
