Kyoka stepped into the shop, it was a small hole in the wall place that very few people frequented, but those that did always became regulars. It was dark inside almost like a club, the lights that were on, were a soft purple that calmed Kyoka's nerves. Upon entering, the room seemed small, the only thing there was a receptionist desk and 2 doors either side of it. Deciding the time for hesitation was long gone, she walked up to the receptionist.
Before she could say anything the lady upfront cut her off, "Name?"
"Kyoka Jiro?" Kyoka was confused, she understood that they would need her name, but not so soon.
"You don't have an appointment?" her voice wasn't rude in anyway, just curious, but Kyoka couldn't help but panic at the sight of the fangs that protruded when she spoke.
"No. Do you not do walk-ins? I'm sorry, did I need to call ahead? I can come bac-"
She was cut off yet again by the front desk lady giggling, "No, no, it's nothing like that. We just don't get many walk-ins, most people like to plan weeks ahead for this kind of thing. Its just a bit curious that's all."
"Oh, okay." Kyoka felt her nerves calming down.
"Okay so, are you okay with having your blood sucked today or would you like to schedule for a later time?"
"Today" Kyoka said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world, she was a walk-in obviously she wanted it today.
"Okay well head to the room on the left. My left, your right sorry." Kyoka made her way into the room expecting to be jumped by an over excited vampire for it's next meal, but was surprised to find a man in a doctor's coat, washing his hands.
"How much water have you had to drink today?"
"I don't know maybe, 2 bottles."
"That is not enough, you could pass out if you don't eat or drink enough," he handed her 4 juice boxes and a large cookie. "Here drink and eat this." There was a moment of silence as she finished her first juice box and took a few bites of her cookie. "Is this your first time?" she nodded. "M'kay, first things first, ground rules, we don't want anyone fainting, so if you feel a headache or ill at any time say stop and the vampire you are assigned will stop immediately." He brought out a notebook and a measuring tape.
"If you ever return, you have the ability to ask for the same vampire as before or someone new. As for what you should expect, it's hard to say, some find the experience calming, others get a rush out of it, like a high, some feel extreme pleasure. It is different depending on each person. I would say it's like having your blood drawn, but it really isn't. It is much more intense and intimate if i'm being honest."
"Question." Kyoka asked as he paused between sentences.
"Yes?"
"I thought you were going to be my assigned vampire."
"Oh. No, that's not how that works, we need to keep things as safe and sanitary as possible, so we do a bit of measuring and health checks beforehand."
"Measuring?"
"Yup. Unlike what the media would have you believe, a bite to the neck isn't what works for everyone, for some it could be fatal." Kyoka couldn't help but pale at the thought. "Anyway, first i'm going to lay out all of the measurements I need to do, then I will have to make some marks with a marker for what areas will work best for you." Kyoka nodded her head just as she finished her cookie and moved onto her last juice box. "First things first, I notice you came in wearing shorts and a tank top, do you have anywhere that is off limits, like your thighs, arms, nothing below the waist, nothing above the waist, arms only, anything."
