Isla sighed as she swimmed alongside Gar, they had been sent ahead of the group to get to the bay early. It was Islas first time going to a human greeting however she wasn't very interested, this was likely because of her pods alternative motives. Isla released another sigh causing Gar to look at her. "What's with the sighs?" the blackfined merman asked as he swam along the cool current.
Isla looked up to him and flicked her own black tail pushing herself to his current. "Are we even sure this is what the crazy sea cow ment? The prophecy was rather cryptic and we've been going for the last four months!"
Gar shrugged. "dono, maybe fifth times the charm? I mean it didn't say WHEN she'd come." he pointed out.
Isla swayed a bit, he wasn't wrong in fact it hardly said where! Really the tribes were guessing though it was an educated guess. "well were almost there!" Gar pointed to a white wall ahead of them.
Isla tilted her head, really this was it? She expected the humans to be a whole lot more creative. Shrugging she pumped her fluke hard to pass Gar but to both of the mer-folks surprise two jets of water blasted past them. Squeaking isla moved to the side. "Silkies." Gar growled.
Not quite mers but close enough to be affected by the prophecy, a seal that could shed its pelt and become human. In no time the two caught up to the Silkies at the wall where a hole was, a wooden welcome sign floated above it. Isla presumed this to be the place, entering her and Gar sufficed and caught there breath. Just behind them was a tigershark merman. "Short of breath orcas?" he asked.
Gar being his hostile self growled at the thin orange shark man swimming away. Isla however simply grabbed Gars long pointed ear and dragged him closer to shore. "he's egging you on." she pointed out.
On the sandy shore were two men holding seal skins, no doubt the Silkies. One was young around fifteen if isla had to guess the other was a well groomed twenty fiver or so. They both had the trade mark silver hair of the Silkies, though the younger one also had freckles while the older didn't. In the deeper end of the water was that tiger shark, he was probably around seventeen and was at a window the humans likely would pass. "Hey Gar, I think fangs down there might have a good idea. Looks like he's giving toothy grins, a fresh fin wouldn't fear other mers even sharks. Maybe you should join him?" Isla suggested.
Gar looked to Isla, he knew she was right but sharks were jerks. "FINE." he groaned, obviously not wanting to.
Meanwhile isla would continue checking out the competition. After a few minutes a mudskipper merman and mermaid came in, more that could get on land though they weren't as mobile as the seals. Next was three octopi mers, two girls twins? Well sisters at least and one young man about the age of the older silkie. As isla swam she noticed every tribe had hidden a green shell of sorts and smuggled it in, they were used to pass the humans net. The net couldn't be seen by the mers but it kept wildlife out of the bay and humans in, a sign that they still didn't trust mers. "Isla! The humans are coming down the hall!" Gar shouted doing a flip.
He then quickly returned to the tiger sharks side waving to what isla assumed to be humans.
