"Phew!" Takafumi wiped his forehead. Finally he had all his work done. It was near the start of the cycle and work had already piled up somehow. At least he had finished now. Ping! His phone beeped. He reached into his bag and took out the phone. A message from Hiyori. He looked at the message in confusion.
"Onii-chan!! Is tomorrow your day off? If so could you please come over that day? It's really really really important!! Also don't say a single word to papa! That's also very important! I'll explain more about it when you get here tomorrow. I'll text you when papa has left to go to work so you can come over safely without him knowing. -Hiyori "
What did she mean? What was so important? He texted her back with an "Okay. I'll be there tomorrow." Before he was interrupted. "Hello Yokozawa-san! What you doing?" He turned around and saw Henmi peering over his shoulder. "What's that concerned look for? Who you texting?" Takafumi hid his phone from Henmi's eyesight. "None of your business. Get back to work." He scolded. "Is it your girlfriend?" He teased making a heart shape with his hands. "No way! She's eleven!" Even the thought of that make Takafumi gag. "A eleven year old? No way could it be you are pen pals with Kirishima-san's daughter!" Takafumi went bright red. Henmi had read him like a book putting two and two together. "Shut up! Anyway I'm done for today so I'm taking my leave." He quickly gathered his things and left flustered by how quickly Henmi had pointed him out. Was his relationship with the Kirishima family that obvious?
The next day
Hiyori POV
" I know it's Saturday but I'll try and be back around 7pm. Grandma should be here soon to pick you up ok?" Papa was still worried about leaving me alone. "Yeah, I'm all good. Grandma texted that she's almost here so you can leave now." I lied. "Ok. Bye have a good day with grandma." He waved at me as he walked out of the front door. He's gone finally! I texted Oni- uh dad giving him the all clear to come over. It didn't take long for him to get here as I heard the door bell go. I grabbed one of the many party poppers I had stashed away and ran to the door opening it. "Happy 1 year anniversary !" I shouted popping the party popper all over a him causing a very confused expression to form on his face. "Wha?" "Today is your and papa's anniversary so I've arranged something for you guys but you need to help me set it up." He still looked confused. "Is this the important thing? I thought something bad had happened to you." Oops. Maybe I should have elaborated more. Oh well he's here now. "Also I brought you a treat." He held out a box to me. "Ooo! Bear puffs! I love these! Thank you." I smiled. He knew me to well sometimes. "Anyway give me a second, I made a plan." I dashed off into my bedroom to grab the A3 sheet of paper where I had planed out everything. He looked at it with an even more surprised face. " Papa is due home around 7pm in which grandma will come and get me so you two lovebirds can have some time alone." He went a little bit red at my choice of words as I looked at the clock. "It just turned 9am so that gives us... 10 hours." He dropped his mouth open. "T-ten hours? What exactly do you plan on doing?" I looked over the plan again. "Well we defiantly need to prepare the best food ever for you guys to eat, also I need to change your outfit and style your hair and also we need to light a bunch of candles and set up some flowers." His mouth dropped even further. "We should probably start on the cooking first. I even washed your apron for the occasion." I smiled as I ran into the kitchen and started gathering ingredients. "Ok. You are going to have to guide me on what to do though." Onii-chan rolled up his sleeve and put on the apron. This was going to be the best meal we've ever made.
9 hours later
"There you go dad! It's perfect." He blushed at me using the word dad. He was still getting used to it. He stared back at himself in the mirror. His hair was all neat and perfect, the colour of his hair matching his suit. It looked nothing like the "Wild bear of marukuawa" as papa describes him. I check hair and outfit off the list. Next is flowers and candles. "Right, flowers and candles. I made sure to get some flowers yesterday so they're perfectly in bloom. And I'll text grandma so she can get me when papa gets back." "Okay I'll start putting the flowers in vases." I texted grandma to come for about ten to seven so she can help with the party poppers. Everything was going to plan. This is going to be the best date ever. I went to help dad set up the flowers and place the candles. He lighted them as papa still won't let me near matches and he wasn't going to let me either. "Hiyo where did you get all of these things?" He asked. "I used my savings." I lied. "Really? This must have been more expensive?" "Well, I used papa's credit card for the other things. But don't tell him. Promise?" He smiled a little bit at me and replied with"Promise."
When we had finished the house looked stunning. The flowers were spread out over the kitchen counter, coffe table and dinning table. The candles were spread out on the balcony and dining table. It looked so romantic and perfect. Papa would love it. We then heard the keys in the door. Quickly both me grandma and Dad went to the door just as it opened. "Happy 1st anniversary!" Me and grandma shouted as papa walked in. "Whoa, was that today?" He asked surprised by not only the party poppers but his boyfriend's outfit. "We made you a meal and set up flowers and candles." I stated in an excited tone as he walked to the kitchen. "Wow it looks amazing. Great job." He complimented. "Grandma it's time for us to go and leave them too it. Night guys!" I waved at them before putting my shoes on and almost dragging grandma out the house. I hope they enjoy it as much as I enjoyed planning it. It'll be the perfect date night.
Third person POV
"You and Hiyori did a really good job." Zen complimented still looking at all the decorations in wonder. "It was all Hiyo's idea. I didn't know about it until this morning." Takafumi laid the dinner on the table. "So chef. What's for dinner today." "Shut up. Hiyori made most of it anyway. It's curry." "Only curry? That's not very romantic. What about heart shaped sushi? That'd be nice." Takafumi pulled a sour face at him. "Shut up and eat it. Hiyori selected it because it was the first meal I ate at your place." He blushed a little while Zen chuckled. "She does always thinks things through doesn't she. And if that's the case then this dish is perfect." He picked up a spoon and started eating away as Takafumi did the same. "Also how did she manage to get so much stuff? This can't have all been from her savings can it?" Takafumi avoided eye contact with him. "Don't tell her I told you but you might want to change your credit card number." Zen laughed. "Shes a smart girl too." He smiled a sweet smile "I'm really glad she found out about our relationship. It make us like one big happy family now." "Yeah. It's nice."
(Ok so this is a longer chapter to make up for the last chapter. I just can't manage to get a steady word average :( Oh well. I hope you enjoyed anyway. )
