Chapter 10

Emmalin P.O.V

"I'll text you later." Elena says, hugging me. I walk to where my brothers' car is parked, and see Gio waiting there for me.

"Hey, babygirl."

"Hey Gio." I chirp, slipping into the car with him.

"Someone's in a good mood."

"I'm just happy. I really like it here. Gio?"

"Yes?"

"Am I allowed to use the gym a home?" Yes, I said home.

"Of course. I'm sure there's something you could use." What was that supposed to mean? Just because I'm tiny, doesn't mean I can't use the same equipment as them. Choose your battles. I tell myself.

"Antonio wants to see you in his office when we get back." I tense up. I didn't do anything wrong, did I? My brothers repeatedly assure me that they would never physically hurt me, and I know they wouldn't, but it's instinct for me to assume the worst. "Don't worry, bambina. You're not in trouble." I guess Gio noticed me stiffen up.

"Emmy!" Sofie squeals, jumping into my arms. Antonio says that she'll go to school when she's older, but he wants her to be home schooled until then. I was very happy with that decision, because this way I wouldn't constantly worry about her being with strangers.

"Damn, after all the bonding we did, you're still her favourite." Dante chuckles, giving me a kiss on the top of my head.

"I'll always be her favourite." I say smugly.

"Oh really?" Dante and Gio have matching evil glints in their eyes. "Sofie, is that true?"

"Yes sir." Sofie does a little salute. The two brothers seem to have a silent conversation, and then, out of nowhere, they lunge for us, making both Sofie and I squeal. Gio grabs Sofie, while Dante grabs me. They throw us on to the sofa, and tickle us so much that I can barely breath. I look over, and see Sofie laughing so hard with Gio, while Dante is still trying to murder me.

"Help us!" Sofie asks someone, and I notice the twins are back from their practice, and are just enjoying the show.

"I don't know. Enzo, what do you think?" Luca asks.

"Well, let's see. Who's you favourite brother?" Enzo smirks. I'm never going to hear the end of this.

"You guys are!" Sofie and I shout at the same time. The twins look at each other, then save us from the wrath of Gio and Dante.

"You guys are our heroes." Sofie kisses them both on the cheek.

"Aw, what about me?" Gio pouts. Sofie immediately goes over to him, and hugs is leg like her life depends on it.

"No! Don't be sad! I love you, Gio!" I could see tears in her eyes. All my brothers look at me.

"è facilmente rattristata dal fatto che altri siano turbati." (she's easily saddened by others being upset.) I say it quickly, so Sofie can't catch on. They nod in understanding.

"lei si abituerà. Presto realizzerà che stiamo solo prendendo in giro." (she'll get used to it. Soon, she'll realise we're just teasing.) Antonio's voice makes me jump three feet high, and everyone laughs, including Sofie, with is now in Gio's arms... even Antonio laughed.

Be still my heart, Antonio just laughed at something funny.

"Yeah, he did. Nice job, sis." Enzo holds out his fist, and I bump it with mine. I guess I said that out loud.

"You guys speak as if I never smile." Antonio says.

"I give Antonio big hug like this, and he smiles." Sofie points out, running into his arms. As if on cue, he smiles.
