New Possibilities

"I can't believe you won!" Bakugo yelled, while roughly driving down the road.

 "Sorry, Bakubro. Guess my team just had more manliness than yours!" I said back. 

Bakugo gave me a look like he was going to pull my head straight off my body and crush it with just his two bare hands. I laughed and jabbed him in the arm. 

"You know I'm just kidding! You're the manliest of all!" I added. 

"Of course I'm the manliest! Anyone who thinks otherwise is a b*st*rd!" he yelled, taking a hard turn.

 Then, we arrived at a Burger King drive-through. 

"What do you want to eat, Sh*tty Hair?" he asked me. Surprised, I looked over at the menu. 

"I'll take some fries," I said with a shrug. 

He nodded and began to order.

Bakugo's POV:

"Two large sodas, and one large fry," I said into the drive-through speaker. 

The lady receiving the message warmly replied, "Of course! That will be $7.17 at the second window." 

"Almost ten dollars just for two sodas and a fry?!" I yelled back, my blood beginning to boil. 

 No reply. I grunted, and gassed the car, driving ahead. Once up at the window, we got our food and paid. I rolled my eyes as I handed the money over. 

"Thank you!"  I heard Kirishima say. 

Back at my house, we played video games. 

"I'm gonna pass you!!" I eagerly stated. 

"No way! It's all about the button mashing!" he said, advancing me.

 "Well, what about strength?" I asked him. 

"If you don't press the buttons hard enough, you can't speed up!" I said. 

"Oh, I know all about strength, Bakubro! I'm the strongest!" he returned. 

"Not stronger than me!" I yelled at his direction, holding the buttons down so hard they could break. 

"You wanna go?" he asked, turning to look at me.

Kirishima's POV:

"Yea! Let's f****** go!" he yelled, throwing his controller to the side.

 In one swift decisive moment, we were suddenly in arm wrestling position on the nearest table. Without a single moment of hesitation, Bakugo began speaking about 3 times the speed a normal person would. 

"Once the match starts, we grip up, E.F.T. You can use the table as leverage. Hooks allowed. If you lose, you are left with no mercy, shame, and humiliation for all time. If you win.." he paused to scoff.. "which I doubt you will... you get bragging rights and the title of the strongest. Prepare for death!" he yelled, with a firm bang on the table with his other hand. 

He accidentally hit the remote, and a local news broadcaster came up on the tv. 

"One two three go!" I yelled, pushing my arm against the table. As we were both grunting and pushing as hard as we could, I looked up and locked eyes with him.

Bakugo's POV:

I looked deep into his piercing red eyes. Something was quite different about him. 

One moment, he's so kind and practical you think he wouldn't hurt a fly. Like some kind of sad weak link. Just some teenager with the dream of becoming a hero, but not destined to be. 

Then, the next moment he shows fierceness unlike any other. It was kind of terrifying, staring directly at him while we fought. Sweat dripping off his face. But, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't look away. His spiky hair, his perfect smile as he pushed to his limits. His intimidation was so raw and powerful. For one of the first times ever, I felt... smaller than someone. And normally I would just get mad and rage win against someone, for messing with my head like that. But he was different. It was almost like... I wanted him to intimidate me. 

Kirishima's POV:

Staring as hard as I could into Bakugo's face, I focused more on my actual strategy and strength. 

Suddenly, something on the tv caught my attention. 

"More heroes were found injured today. Fortunately, no casualties. Stick around as we interview Aizawa, the teacher for class 1A." the tv anchor said. 

As I listened, I continued to stare at Bakugo's face. I could tell that it had broken his concentration, too. 

At once, we both let go of each other and ran to get to his car.
