School's Mascot...

"Hey the game starts in 30 minutes kid, get ready!" Coach yelled to me as I was the only one in the girls locker room for changing.

I threw on the large fluffy suit, with a jersey that said the name of the mascot. 'Bernie the Wolf' I know pretty questionable, but eh whatever man I didn't design the school.

I jumped up and down gesturing the crowd to cheer. No one knew who Bernie was, and that just happened to be me Callie Pearce.

There were loud 'woohoo's!' Filling the air, the bleachers, shook as I saw all the jumpy little kids, I stood in the middle of the field and did a cart wheel or two. That's as much as I could do in this suit.

And everyone cheered me on, it's always exciting.

* * *

I usually stayed back on the field after all the guys left to maybe kick a few footballs into the 'T'. (A/n - I have no idea what it's actually called but maybe this is it?)

This time I stayed in the suit, I was looking for a challenge. The janitor had just left after I helped him clean the bleachers, he always makes sure the guys are gone for me.

I took a football out from under the bench I sit on, and stare at it from under the big wolf head attached to the suit.

My brothers football, he signed it for me and left for college. Across the country, he told me I could sell it when he was famous, of course I laughed.

Michael was amazing, he had left 2 years ago, 1 year after I decided to become the mascot. As they had been looking for one. The costume ad been too small for most of the people, so I offered to take the position.

I placed it in the grass and walked backwards as best I could in the large paws of the wolf and ran for it but before I kicked it I heard.

"Hey Bernie!" Fuck. I fall on my butt and shake my head under the head. I have perfect view of everyone and they can't see me, that's how I like it. "You good, bro?" Chase's husky voice fills the head.

I nod the large head as best I could and he flashed his amazing smile. "Good." He helped me up and I backed away taking the football.

"Never knew you played." He said. I shrug, because I don't.

"Let me see what you got." He challenges, I push him lightly on the shoulder with the large paw of the wolf and he steps aside. I back up again and swing my leg aggressively at the ball, it points upwards and goes right in the middle.

"Damn you're pretty good, why don't you play?", I shrug again, because I'm a girl. I wanted to say.

"Here let's see if you can run the ball past me." He smirks, forming a squatting stance, I raise my brow under the head. And quickly retrieve the ball.

I nod the head and clutch the ball against Bernie's chest and run as best I could in the paws, these things are hard to run in.

He almost tackles me, but I swerve. All of the sudden he jumps on my back and we fly to the floor.

The head falls off as he's laying on top of me, the ball rolls away from us and I lay flat on the grass as he laughs. His face is facing the other way.
