(Hex) - The Choosing

I'm in the school hall the same one I have sat in every Friday for the past four years of my life. The only other times I have been here is on special occasions like book week dress up or a disco.
I'm in my plain black and white uniform with my thick brown hair tied to one side, my pink leopard print converses are off colour from age and i'm wearing my black tracksuit pants with the double white stripes down the side.
I look to my left to see my friend Ash chatting with Melody, Candy sits next to them laughing, Ash and Melody are both short girls Melody though has short black hair that covers one eye and Ash has longer light brown hair with natural blonde highlights, but Candy is head and shoulders taller than all of us she has very light brown, short thick hair.
To my right are Alice, Sabrina and Eris all tall girls but Alice has messy blonde hair usually in a high pony tail like Eris, she has brown neat hair, Sabrina has black hair, mid length, curly and usually put up.

There is a loud sound over the microphone, then some of the girls at the front squeal then there is silence.
"welcome everyone" it was the principle,
"today as you all know the head master from Night Rose academy has flown over from the united states"vague much
"to chose nine student to attend his school".
Ash lent over to me,
"do you think he will pick one of us?" she whispered
"i don't know" I replied. I pushed up my glasses and looked back to the front
"would you like to say a few words"said our principle to the figure at the back of the staff.

The head master of Night Rose Academy walked up to the podium he was younger than I thought, he had short fiery hair and piercing red eyes, he wore a printed t-shirt that had a skull on it and he wore dark stained baggy jeans... not what I expected.
there where murmurs at the front of the crowd "he's cute"exclaimed Alice giving me a funny look, I rolled my eyes.
The head master cleared his throat the mummers got softer, then stopped all together.
"i will keep this short, my name is Flare Archer and I am the head master of Night Rose academy" he said
"and as your principle said, today I will be choosing nine students to attend my school as some of you may have noticed I have been coming around the school studying your classes"
great now I will never get picked i'm the least smart out of all of us and I have a quick temper i'm the least qualified
"Today I have chosen the most qualified students that I think are ready for my school " I hit my head on the seat in front of me.
"if I call your name please come to the front" I wonder who it will be.
A girl called Donna (Ashes arch nemesis) said
"its got to be me"
Flare took a small folded piece of paper out of his pocket.
Ash, Melody, Candy, Alice, Eris, Sabrina and I all linked hands, it felt like a surge of energy going through us, I held my breath.
Flare started
"Ace Thomas"one of the cool kids that I kinda have a crush on his friends patted him on the back and did that weird bro hug thing. . .
"Eris Grace" Eris let go of Alice and walked to the stage.
"Xander Gordan" Aces best friend.
"Melody Margret" Melody let out an exited shriek and ran to the stage.
"Ash Zero" She had a wicked and fiery grin on her face as she proceeded up to the stage.
Donna is sitting in the row in front of us with awe plastered on her face, I couldn't help but giggle.
"Candy Alexandra" Candy smiled and walked up to the stage. The rest of us looked at each other nervously.
"Alice Rose" Alice stood up on her pale grey sneakers and glided across the floor.
"Sabrina Jayne" Sabrina stood up and let go of me and then gave me a worried look before walking up.
"and finally"Ash crossed her fingers for me.
"Hex May" I let out a sigh of relief,
went on stage and stood next to Ace, I looked up at him for a split second to see he was staring strait into my eyes I felt as if I was melting like an ice cream on a hot summers day. As soon as we registered that we where looking at each other awkwardly, we both limitedly looked away, I glanced at Eris and felt the heat in my checks so I looked at my feet.
There was some sarcastic clapping from the front row and enthusiastic from the teachers.
"thank you for your time may a wonderful life follow for you all" then we where directed behind the stage as the other students headed outside when the bell rang, I think our bell is kind of weird its the normal bell and strange music at the same time.
"I have chosen you all very carefully so don't let me think I have made the wrong choice, meet me here tomorrow at nine don't be late and I suggest you all start packing" Flare said
"but tomorrow is Saturday!" said Xander.
"well then, no sleeping in" Flare replied raising an eyebrow.
Eris pouted her lip looking sad, I giggled.
"you are all dismissed" said Flare flicking his hand as if shooing a fly away. We all ran out the door excited.

As we walked out Eris came and bumped me in the shoulder
"oooooh looks like someone has a crush" she said
"shut up" I snapped slapping her on the shoulder. I looked over to where Ace was and he smiled at me before getting on the bus and I started blushing, Alice bumped into my other side making me crash into Eris and snap out of my daze,
"lady killer over on the bus was blushing as soon as he heard your name" Alice said
"he di-i mean why would that concern me" I said in the most convincing voice I could manage.
Alice and Eris both gave me an amused look,
"what?!"i snapped at them
"hmm, any way see you tomorrow, start packing" said Alice walking off
"i have to go to bye"i said running to the car. With a wave from Eris I was off.

When I got home I went strait to my room
"well I guess this will be the last time I sleep here for a while"i said to the white walls.my room consisted of a king single bed with a Chinese doona cover and a purple mosquito net accompanied by dark purple rose lights, in the conner I had a large mirror that opened up and stored all my jewellery, next to it was a picture of a red panda and in the other corner was a tall bookshelf that contained all my trinkets and on the back wall was a full wall cupboard that was packed with clothes. I stuffed most of my things in a large black suit case then had a shower feeling very pleased with my self went to have dinner and went to bed. The last thing I thought of before I fell asleep was, I wonder what tomorrow will bring?
