I thought it would be so fun to show you how I develop my book. I will explain why I picked Atlanta, GA as the location and its impact on the theme.

I chose Atlanta because it is a picturesque city with a diverse political climate. I used to live near the city, and most of my family and friends still reside nearby.
Late last year, I saw many pictures of missing black girls. These young ladies are forced into horrible sex trafficking and abusive conditions, and most weren't found.
I felt that to develop the book with enough realism as possible, Atlanta was the perfect place to do so. As you read, you'll see, I touch on various topics that all center around "lost girls."
This running theme is a current issue in our society today. I wanted to explore how girls become "lost." Now, this book is a work of fiction, and I could never accurately describe the horror of victims of trafficking. There are many catalysts in this story; because it's a world I created. However, I wanted to shine a light and let that be the theme of the book.
I hope that makes sense.
When I think of Atlanta, the first thing that comes to mind is music. We know of some artists and creators get their big breaks in Atlanta. I love southern rap. I notice the influence it has over the generations. So, the main character being an inspiring artist, only seemed fitting.
I believe Atlanta and sex industry references are pretty plain so that I won't give details on that.
