Your POV:

A very bright light had awoken me, along with a few people talking back and forth, it seemed like they were bickering. But what could they be at such a disagreement for?

"Oh, Y/n! You're finally awake, how do you feel?"

Who was that lady, and what was that beeping noise?

"Where am I?" I asked the lady, still trying to adjust my eyes... god this room was so bright, and annoying.

"The hospital dear, do you reme-"

"Right, where is my Mother, I would like to speak with her please."

She's dead, so stop staring at me like that. I just need clarification.

"Unfortunately, she... she didn't make it." The lady frowned at me in a pitying way, that was annoying too.

"Oh, I see. Well, I feel fine. But I would like to know who I'll be living with from now on. Do the police wish to speak with me as well? I would prefer to get that over and done with, I apologize if it seems rude, Ma'am."

I need to get out of this stupid hospital, I need to take a walk and clear my head. Find out what happened to Mom and figure out what my future has in store for me, I need to train as well, for Mom.

"No no! No worries, this man over here will take you to the station. We have some clothes for you to wear, unfortunately it's only a pair of sweats and a hoodie, but I'm sure it will fit you. The clothes you came in were burnt and had holes so we just threw them away. All your questions will be answered at the station, you're free to leave the hospital. No injuries, except you'll be left with some scars." The lady spoke quickly as she helped me out of the bed, she seemed nice, but I just couldn't help but feel annoyed.

I sighed, knowing I'll be looking even more like an overused cutting board, but this time with burn scars, not from being cut. I can already feel the scar forming over my eye... maybe I can make up a cool story to my classmates.

I got up, as the man and lady left the room so I could get dressed. Before leaving the room, I looked around for my belongings and simply found the necklace my mother gave me, what did I expect anyway?

The drive to the police station was quiet, faint music was played in the car, but I had no intention of talking to a man. Men seemed to just cause hell in my life, so why should I start trusting them now?

Throughout tho whole drive to the police station, I stared outside my window, letting the events soak in. I knew that I would have to tell my whole life story, so why not let the emotions sink in now, so I won't worry in the future.

"Excuse me, Miss Nakamura, we've arrived."

Great, I forgot I have to live with the burden of sharing the same name as my father, disgusting.

"Okay." Was all I said as I opened the car door, shutting it gently as I followed behind the policeman.

We walked inside, turning hallway after hallway, until we finally approached a dead end that had one door.

This must be the investigation room? No, the questioning room... what was it called?

"Miss, you can come in now."

Oh, a woman. Perfect, this will make things easier.

I felt my shoulders relax, losing the tension as I walked into the dark room... much better than the overly bright hospital room I woke up in this morning.

I sat down across from the lady in front of me, she smiled and I simply ignored the smile. Rude as it may sound, I wasn't having it with these stupid, pitied smiles from everybody.

"I'm Takahashi Emiko. Please, call me Emiko. I am simply here to answer all your questions and ask you some as well! We need to understand the causes of what went down last night so we can further our investigation and take the appropriate steps towards ending this investigation."

She spoke softly, almost afraid I might shatter... there she goes pitying me again.

"May I ask my questions first please? I only have three."

She nodded her head, signalling for me to continue.

"Where was my mother's body taken?"

I inwardly cringed, sometimes I was a bit too blunt but I needed to know where she was, I needed that clarification.

"She was taken to a crematorium, they are cremating her and her funeral will be within the next week."

I nodded then asked my second question; "Who will I be living with?"

"Your grandmother, Takagi Kiyomi, will be your guardian from now on."

"Finally, if I'm to help you with this investigation... I will have to tell you my life story, is that okay?"

She again nodded, urging me to continue as she took out her pen and notebook.

And then I started.

"From the day I was born, I was treated horribly. My mother had constantly protected me from my father and uncle. Keiko, my father, works with the league of villains. Their hideout used to be my house, in our basement. I was never allowed into the basement unless my uncle, Nikushimi, wanted me."

I took a deep breath then continued; "Don't pity me, I don't need it, but what I am going to tell you is very dark. Nikushimi had used me as a... let's say, punching bag, every single day, he said it would be good for my training, that I would be stronger. The basement is where all of that happened. My mother was beat every time she tried to stop him. Keiko would train me in harsh conditions every day. From 4 in the morning, before school and till 11 at night, after school. I would get fed once a day, while my mother worked in the kitchen. She was married to Keiko through a quirk marriage, my grandmother had no choice, as my grandfather, who passed before I was born, beat her as well."

Stay strong, don't let her pity you.

"Now, the incident from yesterday, was caused because of me. I snuck into the basement later in the day in attempt to hide from my father and uncle. But, the man I know as 'Warp-Gate Dude' and the man with blue hair and hands all over his face was waiting for Keiko. I apologize for not knowing their names. The two men saw me, then called for Keiko, Keiko was furious, I had skipped four hours of my training and was then in the way of their meeting. Nikushimi and Naoki were waiting for me upstairs. I ran past them, trying to get to my mother so we could leave. But I failed. So Nikushimi had started a fire, trapping us. The fire spread and that is what led to the incident last night, and my mother was murdered by my uncle because it was my 'punishment' for ruining too many things."

Deep breaths, in and out.

I finally told someone.

Shaking, I looked up to the woman as she finished writing in her notebook. She didn't have pity on her face and I felt at ease, I didn't need pity.

"Well, I genuinely have no questions, you answered everything I needed. Thankfully, I don't need you to describe anyone since we had already seen Keiko, Naoki, Nikushimi and the other two men yesterday. Your grandmother is waiting out front for you, thank you."

I stood up, leaving as quickly as I could, I needed to see my grandmother. She was the only true family I had left, and she was now going to be the most important part of my life.

Life doesn't seem to get any better, does it?
