Summer, 2018

"College tours are boring, I can't believe I let you talk me into this." Elise rolls her eyes as she pushes the itenorary for the weekend towards her best friend. "C'mon, Evs. The last thing I want to do is sit through two hour long major synopsis from the History department."

"Oh, come on! I hear the professor is hot. We may be bored, but at least there will be eye candy." She smiles, wrapping her hands around  her best friend's arm in order to drag her toward the Staton Building. The Staton Building is home to the History department, named after one of the most generous alumni who donates thousands of dollars towards the university every year.

"I really don't want to," Elise groans, digging the heels of her feet into the grass to keep Everly from pulling the blonde any further.

"Listen, you can sit and fantasize about him bending you over a desk if that's what it takes to get you to go."

Begrudgingly, Elise ends up going to the lecture, and they arrive just before the professor walks in.

"Hello rising freshman," Elise is staring down at her phone, and she can faintly hear the sound of marker rubbing against the whiteboard in its normal, squeaky manner. "I'm professor Williams, and believe the rumors, I am 24." He lets out a small laugh, and that's when Elise raises her eyes from the device in her hands.

His eyes wonder through the copious amount of boys and girls in the audience, and they lock with Elise's. She raises her eyebrow, eyes wondering from head to toe of the man who stands some odd rows away. "And I'm married," he slowly pulls his eyes away. "But that's enough about me. I want to know about you, why you're interested in history, why you're here at this college today, and most importantly, where you want to be five years from now."

His white collard shirt is tucked into blue pants, straight legged and tight enough in all the right spots.

"I'll save you from the boring part of this lecture. If you like history, be a history major. If it isn't your thing, don't waste your time and money."

"Jesus,"  Elise's eyes widen as soon as it slips past her lips, Everly immediately elbowing her in the arm.

"That's an interesting answer," his eyes fall on Elise, who is currently wishing her seat would swallow her whole. "But not exactly appropriate, Miss..."

"Gandy," she swallows, heat rising to her cheeks and she can't decide if it's because she's embarrassed or because arousal is starting to bubble in the pit of her stomach the longer she looks at the man in front of her. He's attractive, there's no way to deny it. Between his dark hair that's perfectly styled and his ocean blue eyes, perfect teeth and heartbreakingly perfect smile - Elise can't keep her thoughts from wondering to where they don't belong.

"Miss Gandy," he turns around on his feet, walking towards the whiteboard. He grabs his marker, and sets up a t-chart that has multiple different sections. "Where would you like to be five years from now?"

"Um...I-I don't.." she's at a loss for works, watching as his fingers move around the marker in his hand. Elise decides then and there, that there's no possible way she could take one of his classes. There's too much that could distract her, and it's all placed directly in front of her - attached to one human being.
