--------------------After a long mental debate about whether he was being jejune and childish, Harry decided that an apology would best suit Andromeda and Malfoy.
It was against his better judgment that he had decided this; Harry definitely didn't want to face Malfoy, or even apologize to him. He didn't know if he was embarrassed or if he was just contumacious when it came to listening to what Andromeda wanted him to hear, but Harry knew that Malfoy was someone that he couldn't apologize to without feeling inferior.
Malfoy would pretend that he was above apologies, and tell Harry that he was unnecessarily admitting his mistake, because "Malfoys never apologize, and Potters shouldn't either".
And then Andromeda would say something about Harry needing to take a break from seeing Teddy, and point out that his anger was getting the best of him again. He needed to do something to get his mind off of jealousy, and find and activity to do or a person to feel ardor for. She would block him from the floos and tell him that it was temporary.
Harry just knew it.
He knew that apologizing would bring nothing but pain and discomfiture, but he still considered it.
Of course, that wasn't the path that he inevitably chose, because he was Harry Potter, and Harry Potter never follows the rules - unless they were set by Hermione, because she's scary - and he sure as hell never cared about what other people thought.
However, when push came to shove, Harry still loved Teddy, and his callow actions couldn't keep him away forever, especially with a Malfoy on the loose.
So Harry showed up on Andromeda's doorstep the very next day after his argument with her and Malfoy, completely prepared to quarrel his way back into their lives.
Harry's shock was palpable when the very same Malfoy that he was trying to protect Teddy from answered the door, and it felt like a sticky coat unsureness and unpreparedness had bedaubed his mind.
"M-Malfoy?" he stammered, taking a great deal of courage to prevent himself from stepping backward onto the paved set[s behind himself.
"Potter," Malfoy drawled. He was wearing a shirt that was almost painfully green. It stood out against his light blond hair in such a way that could only be described as odd; Malfoy was a proper person, so the thought if him acting or dressing in any other way was completely uncalled for. "Have you some to terrify my cousin with your aggressive tone, again?"
"Teddy wasn't even there last time. He was in his bedroom."
"I'm sure he could have heard you." Malfoy crossed his arms over his own chest and gave Harry a troubled look. "Aunt Dromeda was scared that you wouldn't come back. She told me about when you ran away last year."
Harry rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm surprised you didn't hear about that. It was in the Prophet and everything."
"Contrary to popular belief, a lot of people have been avoiding the Prophet, Potter. Your doing, actually."
Harry hadn't been paying attention to the Prophet. He was trying his best to avoid it, and most other news sources. He just had no idea that Malfoy had been avoiding it too. Or anyone else, for that matter.
"How is it my doing?"
Malfoy sighed. "Would you like to come in? Theodore's down for a nap and Aunt Dromeda has stepped out to spend some time with a few friends. She won't be back for a while."
