This story was written during a time where racism is finally being taken seriously.

After the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, Elijah McClain and so many others, we as America has decided we had enough. No more silence. We need to speak up against racism and fight for racial equality once and for all. Not just for African Americans, but for everyone— Latinxs, Asians, Native Americans, Muslims, etc. Racism is not just "black people are n-words", it can be systematic, such as slavery and segregation, it can be in educational systems (like the K-12 school-prison pipeline or history books erasing slavery), or it can be in movies and TV shows (Gone With The Wind, The Birth Of A Nation, etc.)  People should already know that racism is part of everyday lives and you just don't even know it. So that's why I wrote this. I'm sorry to say this but, America was founded on slavery, white supremacy and oppression of Black people. But we can change that: if we elect more Black leaders, invest in Black-owned businesses, support causes such as Black Lives Matter, and join protests, we can make our voices heard. Our history has created safe spaces for Blacks and we continue our ancestors' legacies by speaking out. Throughout history, we have had ended slavery once and for all, passed the Civil Rights Act, and now we need to defund the police. We need to take down Confederate statues that sympathize slave owners and treason, and fight for what's right. Because Black Lives Matter, and we are all created equal.
