"i thought i told you to leave me alone." she spoke, annoyed with the fact that he had taken it upon himself to just up and appear in her doorway.

"please, i just want to talk to you. you know i didn't mean it. i love you" he desperately tried to get her to believe him and the twisted fantasy he had come up with. she scoffed,

"why should i believe you? i saw you with her. there's nothing to 'believe'. it is what it is, yuta. you hurt me." she emphasized with air quotes. he could feel the tears well in his eyes, he was so desperate for a happy ending, he hated for it to end like this.

a few days ago

she opened the door to their shared apartment with a smile plastered upon her features. she had just gotten the promotion at her job she had been chasing for months and was so excited to tell him. no longer would they live paycheck to paycheck and they'd be able to go out to dinner for once. as she neared their bedroom, she heard weird noises. creaking, gasping, heavy breathing, and skin hitting skin. she hesitantly opened the door, only to see him with another girl, going at it. they had no idea of her presence as they continued with their actions, the air growing thick with the smell of sweat and the sounds of sex.

"god, i love you so much." she heard him whimper into the foreign woman's ear as she  loudly moaned. she let out a sob she didn't know she was holding, alerting the others of her presence. he looked at her with wide eyes as he tried to cover him and the mystery lady up with their duvet. she stood there, as if frozen in place as she watched her entire world crumble before her very eyes. she came to her senses and started for the front door, needing to go anywhere, anywhere but here. she heard him pleading her to stay, making his way through the house, only boxers on. she felt a hand on her shoulder, turning her around only to face him. a face she once saw so much potential in. the face she loved. the face she now resented so much that it physically hurt.

"please just listen to me. it's not what it looks like-" he tried to speak only to be cut off,

"not what it looks like? because to me it looks like you're fucking somebody else in our bed." she heaved a sigh. she shook her head and turned around, despite his protests, and rushed to her car. once she got in and locked the doors she drove around town, nowhere to go. she stopped in an empty parking lot and cried. she sat there and sobbed until her face went numb and her body felt like jelly. she ended up calling her friend and crashing at her place. the next few days played out like they weren't real at all.

present day

"i don't want to hear it, yuta. i just don't." she tried closing the door, only for him to push it open and force his way inside. at this point, the two were crying without mercy.

"please just listen to me. she didn't mean anything to me-"

"then why did you tell her you loved her?!" she shrugged, annoyed with the current situation. he sighed and rubbed his eyes, as it was midnight and they were both dead tired.

"please just let me explain. just let me talk. y/n, i love you so much." he pleaded.

"stop saying that. you don't mean it anymore. when did you ever mean it?" she questioned. in her mind, she had wondered how long things were going on, but never asked knowing it would only pain her to hear.

"yes i do. i love you more than i could possibly express." he spoke.

"fucking stop please! i cant do this with you anymore! stop saying that, please." she sobbed, gripping tight onto her hair.

"i won't stop saying it because it's true! y/n i love you-"

"NO! stop it! stop saying that!" she broke down. hearing him say those stupid 3 words made her feel so incredibly horrible. they felt like knives digging straight into her chest. she felt so used, so drained by everything hes ever done.

"just listen to me." he tried to reason with her, knowing it wouldn't work but it was worth the effort.

"why should i ever listen to you?! you fucking had sex with her right in front of me! there's nothing to be discussed! stop with the i love you bullshit because i know you don't mean it." she was in hysterics at this point. just spewing out whatever came to mind.

"i do mean it!" he retorted.

"then why would you tell her the exact same thing?! we're those 2 years nothing to you?! jesus christ.." she began to weaken her words, feeling her body become more and more tired by the second. arguing took such a toll on her, and he knew that. every time they would banter about something, whether it be big or small, it just made her so tired.

"i love you so fucking much.." he weakly said.

"stop saying that i swear to god i will lose my mind if you say that one more fucking time." she threatened through gritted teeth. she just wanted to go to bed. to cry herself into slumber.

"i love you y/n!" he shouted.

"stop it!" she shouted back.

"i love you!"

"stop saying that!"

"i love you!"

"no!" she gripped tighter into her hair than before, feeling the follicles snap under her grip. collapsing onto the floor as her body couldn't handle the intensity anymore. her roommate had heard the commotion but didn't dare come downstairs, knowing it was their business. but when she heard y/n begin to yell and shout at him, she knew she had to intervene.

"what is happening here? who let you inside?" she spoke towards yuta. the sight in front of her was more than depressing. y/n crumpled onto the floor crying her eyes out and yuta standing there before her, tear stains glistening onto his cheeks.

"jin ye, help me out here please?" he tried to persuade her. he wanted so desperately for y/n to listen. but what was there to listen to?

"why would i ever help you? after what you did? hell no. i'm not helping you with shit. now get the hell out of my house and never come back. understand?" she made her way towards the girl sprawled onto the floor and took her into her arms, lulling her into security. he whimpered a small 'please' but to no avail. nobody was going to listen.

"do i have to file a restraining order? i can and will call the cops on you." jin ye spat at him. he sighed in defeat and began walking towards the door, knowing that he had just lost the love of his life, just to chase some dumb high. no, it wasn't worth it. he wished he could go back in time to where they were happy. to when they would sit on the couch and throw random food in the air hoping to catch it in their mouths only to get it on the floor and laugh at each other. but now all he was met with was screaming and crying and an unbearable feeling of loss. he got into his car and slammed the wheel, sobbing his heart out. jin ye helped y/n into her bed and tucked her in. she whispered a small 'i'm so sorry' into her ear before closing the door behind her. y/n cried into the night, eventually closing her eyes and falling into a deep sleep. only able to think about the painful past.
