Yes we are weird but honestly without us there would be no school spirit. Some people hate us while others want to be like us. We ate the band.

Most people think we have it easy. They are SO wrong. Id like to see them get through marching bamd practice in 100 degree weather wile playimg an instrument without a water break. Yeah and thats on a good day.

My name is Sharon, and these are my rules to surviving marchimg band.

Okay lets start. Rule numero uno, NEVER miss Band camp not only will you be very behind but you will miss out on all th fun. Its the easiest time for us band geeks. We get a tan, learn new drills, and eat amazimg food from the band moms. YUM.

But forget about the food for a moment. I know, I knowlb moms speggeti is amazing but we must focus on the real situation. Lets go forward in time to two very different people. One showed up to band camp one didnt.

JESSICA LANEY: CLARINET

Jessica is a star student in band. Always on time, eccelemt tecnique. Shes amazing. Jessica actualy showed up to bamd camp. 3 months later she was the best freshman marcher. The band directors put her in the front row of the show.

ROBERT SHOWMAN: TUBA

Robert thinks he is to good to8 go to band camp, that he doesnt have the time. Robert did not show up to band camp. For him 3 months later the band did was at a football game and while in the first part of the show, Robert forgot his set. Becouse he forgot his set it caused the tuba domino effect. If you have never seen one you are lucky. You have not yet had to witness the horror of 7 tubas completely fallimg on one

Dont be a Robert. Dont mess up the band. Be responsible. Be someone the wee little freshman want to look up to when you are a senior.
