"A pandemic hit many countries all around the world. It already killed millions in China where
it was first reported. WHO is already urging everyone to be prepared..."

"Virus, huh!?. What a lame way to end the world." as I switched off the television.

I was checking the fridge when I heard my phone ringing - must be some of my so called friends trying to go out for Friday night.

"Crap. I'm out of supplies." I whispered to myself trying to ignore my phone ringing.

I walked to my phone to check who's calling multiple times.

"Finally! I got through you Drake! Where are you? Don't ever go out! The virus is spreading. The world is ending!"

"I know. Stop over reacting. I'm fine!"

I can imagine my mom's face on the other line, probably scared or panicking over what she heard on the news or probably read on social media.

"Hey, mom, do ..." the line suddenly disconnected. I tried calling her back multiple times but my calls aren't going through.

I went out to grab supplies, thinking I need to stock more just in case outbreak get worst.

Everything was so normal or maybe everyone was too complacent, or maybe I am just over thinking - I always have a tendency to over think, it's a borderline to anxiety disorder.

Not a single preparation for an outbreak was there, guess everyone is immune or not scared of it? I feel naive that I actually believed media. They said it is a devastating epidemic, well in fact, it has a very low mortality rate.

I was telling myself it wont be devastating as what media is saying and no need for me to stock a lot of supplies. But I ended up buying supplies good for a few months.

The store assistant stared at me as if I am trying to hoard a lot of stuff. I grabbed my phone and pretend as if
I am talking to my mom.

Drove back home past 7PM - too tired to do anything and went back to my gaming station and played the whole evening trying to forget the disgusted stare of the store assistant.

"It wont be deadly" - told myself with a smirk on my face.

It was around 2AM when I got bored playing. Decided to read some news - out of curiosity.

"The virus is highly contagious and no medicine has been made yet." - that was what the media is saying.

Media has been putting emphasis on the number of new cases - maybe to get high ratings for their business? I really don't care. Besides, in my opinion media is controlled by the one paying them, bending the truth according to their sponsors' will.

"Low mortality rate." I whispered to myself with a sharp breath.

I kept on reading more information about the virus but all the sources I've looked on, they are all saying the same thing. It was already past 4AM when I felt drowsy - the coffee I had didn't kick in.
