Prologue
My name is Parker Sage Elway, and I need you to know one thing right now: I am not crazy. Some of the things you're about to read may make it seem like I've completely lost it, and I can't say I haven't questioned my sanity at points, but you must believe me. I am not crazy.
I'm writing this all down because they said it would help. They said that maybe, if I've got it all printed in black and white, I'll remember what really happened, and they'll be able to figure out how to help me. The thing is, I already know what really happened; I've been telling them the story for weeks now. It just sounds so completely ridiculous and insane that they don't believe it.
I probably wouldn't believe it, either, if I hadn't lived through it myself.
Everything that I am about to tell you is absolutely and completely true. This is what happened to me. It's inconceivable and thoroughly terrifying, but I swear that it's true. As you read the story I am about to tell you, I want you to open your mind to the idea that all the things I encountered are completely real. I need you to believe me and not think I'm insane. They think that I am. They think I'm suicidal and delusional and completely out of my mind. And it's not just them, either; it's Logan, it's Juliette—my best friends. They coddle me and pat my head and pretend that I'm okay, even though they really think I'm crazy.
But I'm not.
I'm not crazy.
And I can only hope that by the end of this, you still believe me.

Updates won't be super frequent, because it needs editing and I'm still trying to finish up my word count. But yeah, enjoy! Tell me what you guys think--comments are very welcome :).
