The gentle pitter patter of light rain drops pushed away the void of silence, but that did not satisfy the teens impatient mood. She adjusted her posture on the sheltered porch, watching the droplets trail from the green rooftop and splatter on the wet cement sidewalk.
She's been outside for hours, tap-tap-tapping away at her phone, which seemed to run much slower despite just being on the outside of the door. Matching games only brought up anger and her anxiety flared at the thought of her coming package failing to actually come.
Not that she was ever one to do much, but she /did/ do more than usual to earn the Goodguy doll her aunt promised her in exchange for chores.
Definitely not the average teenage request, though it didn't matter. So long as her long awaited plastic pal arrived, there would be nothing but satisfaction.
Checking her phone, it's past noon. Where could he be? The delivery man didn't seem to promising at the time and her butt hurt from doing nothing for so long. 'Perhaps I'll go in for the day.' she thinks to herself, disappointment starting to cloud over her. 'Maybe he'll arrive tomorrow. If no one steals such an expensive little guy.'
But said little guy was very much on his way. Bound tightly in his yellow box. It's horribly uncomfortable, but necessary or it wouldn't seem legit. The view wasn't any better. A dimmed perspective of several brown boxes stacked on top of each other, threatening to topple at the slightest bump. He felt sick of watching the UPS delivery man bending over to pick up those boxes to.
"OW. OW. OW." The disappointed teen had heated up a burrito for herself in an attempt to cheer herself up. Grabbing it at it's /freshest/ point probably wasn't the wisest of choices though. She rushes past the dining table and plops in the recliner, setting the paper towel wrapped snack on the arm. But just as she began to dive into the internet, there was a sudden, loud knock on the front door!
'OF COURSE.' she thinks, having just put the foot rest up. 'WHEN I GET COMFORTABLE.'
"I got it!" Considering the fact the foot rest had to be put down a certain way without making a loud noise, she didn't even bother with it and hopped out the side. Her burrito was set on the box behind the chair as she rushed to the door, her grandmother curiously leaning in her seat, hoping for a peek.
"AH-" The big box was there, standing in all it's glory. She snatches it like a ravage child, quickly shutting the door behind her but not bothering to lock it because she was too excited.
Holy shit that felt like an earth quake! The doll is frowning in severe discomfort now. That idiot UPS driver had slipped his yellow box in an even bigger brown box and now he could see none of what was going on around him! But wait, there's a sliver of light growing! He's finally being unpackaged! Time to put on that adorable dolly grin and bear through the fangirling soon to happen.
