Everything was a blur, music blasting, everything happening so fast, people dancing, smoking, kissing, this is where i wanted to be.
I walked to the corner of the room where Mikey, my dealer stood i gave him a cheeky smile and handed the money over. He counted it slowly and then once he was sure he left, i knew after tonight i wouldn't be able to seen him for a while, my auntie and uncle would have me killed if they found out i was here but the all say i've a 'problem with authority' anyway.
I was too out off it to understand what happened next, drinking and drugs isn't a good mix but i heard a loud boom then everyone gathered outside. In the garden lay Jason his face covered in blood someone must've done him in i thought. Everyone looked horrified, some threw up, others called the ambulance while people tried to help him. Sirens. If i got caught here i was done for, i'd have a record then i'd never see daylight again if my aunt found out.
I jumped over the fence and ran, everyone split in different directions some stayed behind or got arrested i wasn't gonna be one of them for sure.
That was when she came along. She looked lost and was clearly drunk. "Yo, come over here!" I called, confused she looked and walked as fast as she could with her heels in her hand , "I'm Milo," she smiled and nodded "Zara" she said in a soft tone. Before i knew it she grabbed my hand and took me down the bank behind us as more cop cars appeared. The whole night was a blur from that moment.
We sat on the lakeside, with music playing and the stars out.
"You want a hit?"
She smiled, clearly unsure off what to respond but without another word took the joint and took a hit. She coughed and spluttered once she finished her drag which was ungodly long, "Holy shit, give me a drink!" I threw her a drink while laughing at her struggling to actually take a drink without coughing it up, she'd never done it before which was obvious."So tell me about your rebellious dramatic teen life" She said while looking into the sky, everything about her was perfect. everything.
"Bold off you to assume it's dramatic, if anything your life would be,"
"And why is that miss mysterious?"
"Look at you, the pink skirt, the white top and butterfly earrings. Clearly a good girl gone bad if i do say so myself Zara."Zara. Her name rolled off my tongue with nothing but ease, i bet i could put that to good use. She stripped off into her underwear and looked back with a satisfied look on her face, before i had the chance to comprehend the sight in front of me she jumped in the lake.
It was like slow motion as Zara broke the barrier between the water and the surface, "Get in!!"
"No, it looks absolutely freezing!!" I yelled back, i was most certainly enjoying the view.
" Come on, it's not that cold!"
Something about the way she asked lured me in, i stripped down and entered the water which surprisingly wasn't as cold as i thought. We laughed and splashed with the moonlight glistening in the water and dancing on our skins. Zara was no doubt the most beautiful girl i'd ever seen but i didn't know her. I think that was the fun off the night, she was a random person with no strings nor judgement to fear . She dived down to the bottom and brought up two coins, both clearly old and i have no clue how she seen them but she handed one to me with a smile.
By the time we got out each one of us were shivering, i expected the night to end but instead she pulled out her phone and told me to get a few photos. They added to the collection she took on my phone earlier but i didn't mind we were out off our heads with drugs and drink not to mention there was something charming about the night we were spending together. We lay there for i don't know how long but i enjoyed it,
"What time is it?" I asked her but she seemed to be in a world off her own, not like i minded.
"2:30am the last time i checked, you've made me crazy tonight just to let you know"
"What an honour i have had bestowed upon me" I smirked at her while throwing on my clothes, i couldn't believe how beautiful she was. It should be illegal.
"You're fluent in sarcasm clearly" She looked at her clothes and began to get dressed, without a word she climbed up the bank and i think started to walk home. I ran after her, which was such a mistake.
I walked her to the park which was apparently not long from her house, we still weren't sober but our acting was on point. She began to walk before she stopped and turned, "We probably won't remember this, but this was the best night off my 16 years off life"
Before i knew she was gone, i walked home in the with nothing but my dead phone and the streetlights. Of course not without a few stops to vomit in bushes but who could complain?I woke the next morning with a banging head, i wasn't at home but i knew i was at my brother's house. Clips off the night went in and out off my head, my phone full off photos of this girl, the most beautiful one i'd ever seen.
I never saw her for the rest off the summer...
"She couldn't care less but i couldn't care more and that's all there's to say about that"
