The Promise

Ch : 1 The news

It was 29 June 2001, Jake had a good day in school and was very happy. He took his bag off his shoulders and changed his clothes. He said to her mom, ''Mom, i'm going to Cassandra's home''. Her mom said, ''come home by 7''. Jake was about to ringed the doorbell of Cassandra's house but the door opened and Cassandra just passed from by side. He saw her tears falling from her face.

                                       Behind Cassandra came her mother, Lily trying to stop her. Her eyes are showing that she is worried about something. She saw Jake standing on the doorways. She said to Jake, '' come in the living room boy, i have to tell you something''. In the living room Cassandra's father, Gorgey is present. Jake entered the room and sat beside her father. He putted his hand on the shoulder and said, ''Boy, were leaving this place tommorow''. He was so terribly moved by those words.
                                                           Her father patted his shoulder showing sympathy to him. He continued, ''We tried to make Cassandra understand but she didn't listened and ran away from here. She always liked you from childhood, so i request you please do something that will make her understand''. He asked, ''why are you leaving? '' Her father said, ''There are no better education opportunities here, so we are moving from here to a place where there are more opportunities outside''. He looked at his eyes and it shows sadness, he is trying to hold his tears. He said further, ''Boy, we don't have any problem with you guys. But let her go for now, she will come back that's my responsibility''. He looked at him with eyes filled with tears and said, ''okay, i'll do something and make her understand''. Her father said, ''thank you boy, i'll make sure she'll come back to you. You should also try hard to get the best in you''. He said, ''sure, I'll also try.'' He stood up and asked, ''Do you have any idea where she must have gone?''. Her parents nodded in a no response. He said, ''then, i'll go and find her'' and he went outside.
                       He exactly knew where she'll be. He went to underbridge and saw her sitting. Her curly hairs were flying with the winds, her hands was rested on her knees and her head was on her hands. Tears falling from his eyes due to which her hands are a little wet and she is still crying. She was wearing a red top and a blue jeans. He quitely came and sat beside her, but the voice of cracking grass had already told her he came.
