Marinette stared in disbelief as she got her grades back that day. She was failing, extremely.
Alya noticed her sudden bounce of panic, yet already knew what was freaking her out. "You're failing, aren't you?" Alya was quick to ask.
"Mhm.."
Alya let out a sigh, taking annoyance to her best friends behavior. "You know if you keep this up, they may not allow you on the field trip."
Marinette didn't seem bothered by the fact, as it's not like she wanted to go on the trip. But it was the end of the year and if she wanted to move up a grade, passing was neccessary.
"I've just been off lately, is all."
Class was nearly over, dismissing them to a free period after the bell rang. But when Adrien took a quick glance behind him, he could see the visible worry in her eyes.
"Is everything okay?" Marinette tensed as he spoke. Even if she knew him and Cat Noir were the same person, that didn't stop her from malfunctioning every once in a while around Adrien. She was still more free around Cat Noir. Though, lately it's been difficult.
"Yeah no biggie! Just... grades." The red on her face was visible as she spoke. "Well if you need tutoring, I'm free,"
'Grades are the dumbest,' thought Marinette as she looked at her own.
"Have you noticed the lack of Akuma attacks lately?" Alya randomly pointed out her discovery, catching Marinette from her daze.
The only reason she stopped to listen was because the realization hit her. Either Hawk Moth had decided to not take terrorizing the city as a hobby, or he's planning something big.
"Oh! That's um- interesting," the bluenette placed the bundle of papers she was viewing back on her work area.
She could see from the corner of her eye Adrien only slightly viewing over, also probably caught off guard at what Alya said. She noticed him deep in thought. "I'm not sure if that's good or bad." She groaned. "I haven't been able to get anything good for the Ladyblog! It's already been days,"
"Just calm down, I'm sure you'll get something soon. Besides, it's only been like two days. It hasn't even been much long."
That sentance reminded Alya it was Tuesday, also the last day available to submit field trip forms. "Speaking of Tuesday," she began.
"Don't forget to turn in those forms! You too, Adrien." She gave him a soft tap located on his shoulder, which he nodded to.
"We don't have to turn them in yet, no sweat." Marinette chuckled.
"Even so, I wouldn't be surprised if you forgot."
When the bell rang for the class to flee, the small friend group met up near the bottom of the stairs. Chloe shooting them a dirty look as 'her Adrien' was hanging out with the certain people she hated most. Everyone was used to it, so the small action didn't bother them. Marinette could see Lila eyeing them too, but she knew the compulsive liar wasn't able to say anything at the moment.
"We have a whole hour before our next class period, what do ya'll plan on doing?" Alya sighed and fell to the concrete. "Don't be overdramatic," Marinette playfully kicked her, indicating for her to stand up.
"I'm bored, I say we go to Marinettes." Suggested Alya, but Marinette immediately started flaring her arms. "No! Um- we can't!"
Her face burned again as she tried to think of nearly anything just to keep the crew from inside her house.
Alya was confused, but came to the conclusion that it was just Marinette being Marinette again. "Whatever you say, then."
With the free time they had, they instead chose to simply sit and relax on the school grounds.
