Without another thought, the blonde swung his arm wildly upon hearing his name being called. The punch found nothing but air, and he found his arm gripped by the girl's left hand.

"Gah!"

He winced at the uncharacteristically firm grip. It was not superhuman strength by any means, but he was completely caught off-guard by the strength from someone who did not seem athletic by any means.

In response, he used his free arm and reached inside his pocket.

"Who the hell are you?"

He never intended to wait for the answer. He merely used that question in order to buy time for him to grab his phone and aim its concentrated torch at her eyes.

"Hya!" shouted the girl as the concentrated light of the phone torch shot into her eyes.

In the process, she let go of Jay's arm, and the blonde took the opportunity. Wasting little time, he tossed his cap at the girl's face before turning tail and running.

He ran as fast as his legs can take him. Weaving his way through the crowd of people who have become sudden spectators to the whole ordeal, he pushed his way through.

To others, it probably just seemed to be a fight between a couple that should settle down in time. Such things are not that uncommon, after all. However, for Jay, this was different.

Who is this girl? How did a complete stranger who spoke in such a manner suddenly know his name?

Tucking those questions to the back of his mind, Jay focused on the one thing he can be sure about this girl: she is up to no good. The way she talked, she probably already knew about his activities and was in the process of pulling him in for interrogation.

It's good that the girl did not seem too proficient in this. It was her getting caught off-guard that allowed him to escape, but for how long?

Damn this!

Frustration welled up inside the blonde youth. He did not know if he jinxed himself or what, but he did not come here expecting to be so on edge again.

Taking flight through the now-crowded shopping district, he glanced back for any signs of the girl. No sign of her. Good.

It was a good ten minutes of non-stop running, and he now found himself out of breath. Hearing the horns of cars washed him with a wave of relief. It meant that he was really near the edge of South Quinn Street's shopping district.

He caught himself panting, but with a couple of slaps to his own face, he finally managed to compose himself for a bit. Opening his phone, he quickly shifted to the messaging window.

"My cover got blown! We need to meet somewhere now," he frantically texted those words while remaining on the lookout.

He then tried to process what just happened, and it was then that he realized his stupidity of leaving the briefcase as well as throwing the cap that he used as a way to maintain a low profile.

Before he could let frustration take hold, his eyes widened, and he smiled upon receiving the reply, knowing that help is on the way.

It was then that he turned back and saw the long-haired girl closing in from a distance.

Wasting little time, he broke into a mad dash out of South Quinn Street and towards the nearby residential area.

Having left the Arata residence a satisfied girl just a few minutes ago, Amagi strolled past the community park several blocks away.

Not a lot of people passed by her, giving her some much-wanted solitude, something that people would not expect out of the ever-smiling idol of class 2-C.
